INTRODUCTION
PsiQuantum’s mission is to build the first useful quantum computers—machines capable of delivering the breakthroughs the field has long promised. Since our founding in 2016, our singular focus has been to build and deploy million-qubit, fault-tolerant quantum systems. Quantum computers harness the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems that even the most advanced supercomputers or AI systems will never reach. Their impact will span energy, pharmaceuticals, finance, agriculture, transportation, materials, and other foundational industries. Our architecture and approach is based on silicon photonics. By leveraging the advanced semiconductor manufacturing industry—including partners like GlobalFoundries—we use the same high-volume processes that already produce billions of chips for telecom and consumer electronics. Photonics offers natural advantages for scale: photons don’t feel heat, are immune to electromagnetic interference, and integrate with existing cryogenic cooling and standard fiber-optic infrastructure. In 2024, PsiQuantum announced government-funded projects to support the build-out of our first utility-scale quantum computers in Brisbane, Australia, and Chicago, Illinois. These initiatives reflect a growing recognition that quantum computing will be strategically and economically defining—and that now is the time to scale. PsiQuantum also develops the algorithms and software needed to make these systems commercially valuable. Our application, software, and industry teams work directly with leading Fortune 500 companies—including Lockheed Martin, Mercedes-Benz, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Mitsubishi Chemical—to prepare quantum solutions for real-world impact. Quantum computing is not an extension of classical computing. It represents a fundamental shift—and a path to mastering challenges that cannot be solved any other way. The potential is enormous, and we have a clear path to make it real. Come join us.

Certify Your Credentials Before Applying
Quantum hardware facilities often require verification that foreign trade credentials meet U.S. equivalency standards. Get your qualifications assessed by a NACES-approved evaluator before submitting applications so PsiQuantum's hiring team can move quickly on your file.
Target PsiQuantum's Cleanroom and Cryogenic Openings
PsiQuantum's Mechanic roles frequently involve cryogenic systems and photonic chip fabrication environments. Tailoring your resume to reflect hands-on experience with vacuum systems, precision assembly, or cleanroom protocols signals direct alignment with what their facilities actually need.
Understand Which Visa Fits Your Timeline
PsiQuantum sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas. If you're on OPT with limited time remaining, confirm your STEM extension eligibility early. E-3 applicants can move faster than H-1B since there's no lottery and consular processing at Australian posts typically runs two to four weeks.
Align Your Offer Timing With H-1B Cap Deadlines
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS opens registration each March for the October 1 start date. Work backward from that window when negotiating your offer so PsiQuantum's immigration counsel has enough lead time to file a complete petition before the registration deadline.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Mechanic Openings
Searching broadly wastes time when you need a confirmed sponsoring employer. Use Migrate Mate to filter Mechanic roles at PsiQuantum directly, so every listing you see is already screened for visa sponsorship eligibility rather than requiring you to verify each posting manually.
Request Written Sponsorship Confirmation Before Accepting
Before signing an offer, ask PsiQuantum's recruiting team to confirm in writing which visa category they intend to file under and whether they cover filing fees. DOL regulations require employers to bear certain LCA-related costs, so understanding cost allocation upfront prevents disputes after your start date.

Find Mechanic at PsiQuantum JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does PsiQuantum sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanics?
Yes, PsiQuantum sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanic roles. Because Mechanic positions at a quantum computing company involve highly specialized technical work, the role typically meets USCIS specialty occupation criteria when tied to a relevant engineering or applied science degree. Your employer files the petition after securing a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL. Sponsorship is subject to the annual H-1B cap and lottery, so timing your offer around the March registration window matters.
How do I apply for Mechanic jobs at PsiQuantum?
Applications go through PsiQuantum's careers page, where Mechanic openings are listed by facility and function. You can also find and filter verified Mechanic roles at PsiQuantum through Migrate Mate, which screens listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, emphasize hands-on experience with precision mechanical systems, cryogenic equipment, or cleanroom environments, as those align most directly with PsiQuantum's hardware development work.
Which visa types does PsiQuantum commonly use for Mechanic roles?
PsiQuantum sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for this function. Australian citizens are well-positioned for the E-3, which has no lottery and allows consular processing in weeks. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying mechanical occupations may pursue TN status. F-1 students with STEM OPT authorization can begin work immediately while a longer-term petition is prepared.
What qualifications does PsiQuantum expect for Mechanic roles?
PsiQuantum's Mechanic positions generally require demonstrated experience with precision assembly, vacuum or cryogenic systems, and working within controlled environments such as cleanrooms. Formal trade certification, an associate's degree in a mechanical discipline, or a bachelor's in mechanical or applied engineering strengthens a sponsorship case. Roles tied to photonic chip packaging or dilution refrigerator maintenance may require additional specialized training given the sensitivity of the hardware involved.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing sponsorship at PsiQuantum?
Timeline depends heavily on which visa category applies to you. E-3 and TN applicants can often complete the process in four to eight weeks from offer to work authorization. H-1B candidates need to account for the March registration lottery and an October 1 start date, meaning an offer in late winter gives the tightest viable window. F-1 OPT holders should confirm remaining authorized days with their DSO before accepting an offer.
