Align your credentials with client site requirements
PTS Advance fills Project Engineer roles for specific client engagements, so your resume needs to reflect the technical domain of the placement, whether that is oil and gas, power generation, or construction management. Generic engineering resumes get screened out fast.
Ask explicitly about PERM sponsorship timelines
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship requires a PERM labor certification filed with DOL, a process that takes 12 to 18 months before the immigrant petition even begins. Ask during the offer stage whether the client or PTS Advance is the sponsoring entity and when they intend to file.
Target postings tied to long-term client projects
Staffing firms sponsor visas when placements are stable enough to justify the cost and administrative burden. Focus your applications on multi-year infrastructure or capital projects rather than short-term contract postings, where sponsorship is far less likely to be offered.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Project Engineer openings by visa type
Not every PTS Advance posting specifies sponsorship eligibility upfront. Use Migrate Mate to filter their current Project Engineer openings by the visa categories they support, so you are only spending time on roles that match your immigration status.
Clarify the TN qualifying category before accepting an offer
TN status for engineers requires that your role and degree fall within USMCA-defined professional categories. For Project Engineer roles, the classification depends heavily on job duties. Confirm with PTS Advance that your offer letter describes duties that satisfy the TN engineer definition before traveling to a port of entry.

Does PTS Advance sponsor H-1B visas for Project Engineers?
PTS Advance's sponsorship activity for Project Engineers has been concentrated in Green Card pathways (EB-2 and EB-3) and work authorization categories like F-1 OPT and TN rather than H-1B cap filings. If H-1B sponsorship is your goal, confirm directly with their recruiting team whether a specific placement is structured to support that pathway, since sponsorship eligibility depends on the client engagement.
How do I apply for Project Engineer jobs at PTS Advance?
You can apply through PTS Advance's careers portal or through job boards where their postings appear. To find openings that specifically support your visa type, browse Project Engineer roles at PTS Advance on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by sponsorship category. When applying, include your engineering discipline, relevant sector experience, and current work authorization status in your outreach to their recruiters.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Engineer roles at PTS Advance?
PTS Advance has supported Project Engineer hires through F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree, and the duration of the placement. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose engineering role falls within USMCA-defined categories. Green Card sponsorship through PERM is typically tied to long-term or permanent placements.
What qualifications are expected for Project Engineer roles at PTS Advance?
PTS Advance places Project Engineers across energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors, so a relevant engineering degree, a Bachelor of Science in mechanical, civil, electrical, or chemical engineering, is typically the baseline. Most client placements also require demonstrated field or site experience. For visa eligibility under specialty occupation or TN categories, your degree must align specifically with the job duties listed in the offer, not just engineering in general.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Project Engineer at PTS Advance?
Timeline depends on the visa category. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry in a single day for eligible Canadian nationals, or through consular processing in a few weeks for Mexican nationals. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 involves a PERM labor certification with DOL (typically 12 to 18 months), followed by USCIS petition review and visa availability, which can add years depending on your country of birth and priority date.
