Align your credentials to client site requirements
PTS Advance fills roles on behalf of client companies, so your resume needs to reflect the end client's technical environment. Highlight specific electrical systems, codes, and industries you've worked in rather than listing generic engineering skills.
Clarify TN eligibility before your first interview
If you're a Canadian or Mexican national, TN status is one of the fastest paths PTS Advance can activate. Confirm your engineering degree and job duties satisfy DOL's TN criteria for engineers before negotiations start, since the designation is role-specific.
Ask directly about PERM sponsorship timelines
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship through a staffing firm requires a permanent, non-temporary job offer. Ask PTS Advance during the offer stage whether the placement is structured to support a PERM labor certification filing and what their typical timeline looks like.
Time your OPT or CPT start date carefully
Staffing placements often have variable start dates tied to client project schedules. If you're on F-1 OPT, coordinate your DSO-reported start date with PTS Advance's confirmed project commencement to avoid unauthorized gaps in work authorization.
Browse verified sponsoring roles through Migrate Mate
Identifying which staffing firms actively sponsor for Electrical Engineer placements takes time. Use Migrate Mate to filter PTS Advance openings by visa type so you're only applying to roles where your specific authorization is already supported.
Confirm the employing entity on your visa petition
In staffing arrangements, the agency, not the client site, is typically listed as your employer on immigration filings. Verify with PTS Advance which legal entity will appear on your petition before USCIS or DOL submissions begin, since this affects portability and future transfers.

Does PTS Advance sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers?
PTS Advance's primary sponsorship pathways for Electrical Engineers are EB-2, EB-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT rather than H-1B. As a staffing firm, H-1B sponsorship is more complex because the agency, not the client, holds the petition, and the annual cap and lottery add uncertainty that staffing arrangements are not well-suited to absorb. If H-1B is your goal, clarify this directly with their recruiting team before advancing in the process.
How do I apply for Electrical Engineer jobs at PTS Advance?
You can browse and apply for Electrical Engineer openings at PTS Advance through Migrate Mate, which surfaces their current listings filtered by visa sponsorship type. When you apply, be specific about your work authorization status and target industry since PTS Advance places engineers across energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors, and matching you to the right client engagement depends on that detail.
Which visa types does PTS Advance commonly use for Electrical Engineer roles?
PTS Advance sponsors Electrical Engineers through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories for candidates pursuing permanent residence, and through TN status for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals. F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT are also supported, making PTS Advance accessible to recent engineering graduates completing their practical training period before transitioning to a longer-term visa pathway.
What qualifications does PTS Advance expect for sponsored Electrical Engineer positions?
Most Electrical Engineer placements at PTS Advance require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field, which also satisfies the academic credential requirement for EB-3 and TN petitions. Client-specific requirements vary, but candidates with hands-on experience in power systems, industrial controls, or project engineering tend to match the sectors PTS Advance staffs most frequently. A Professional Engineer license strengthens candidacy for senior placements.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at PTS Advance?
Timeline depends on the visa category. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border in a single day once documentation is ready. F-1 OPT authorization is pre-approved through your DSO before you start. EB-2 and EB-3 pathways involve a PERM labor certification filed with DOL, which currently runs six months to over a year, followed by an I-140 petition with USCIS before a Green Card becomes available.
