Target roles that align with H-1B specialty occupation criteria
PUMA's sponsored roles tend to sit in technically specialized functions. Focus your applications on positions in product engineering, supply chain management, or corporate operations where a specific degree field is a genuine requirement, not just a preference.
Understand PUMA's manufacturing and product development structure
PUMA operates across design, sourcing, and distribution functions. Roles tied to product development, materials science, or technical merchandising are more likely to require specialized qualifications that support an H-1B specialty occupation argument.
Apply well before the H-1B cap season
PUMA's sponsorship activity means timing matters. Petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. Starting conversations with hiring managers and recruiters by December gives you the best chance of moving through the process in time.
Emphasize technical depth over general business skills
In manufacturing-adjacent companies like PUMA, immigration sponsorship decisions often come down to whether a role is defensible as a specialty occupation. Highlighting specialized knowledge in your field strengthens both your candidacy and the eventual H-1B petition.
Search for open roles through a verified sponsorship platform
Not every job listing signals whether a company will sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you prioritize PUMA openings where international candidates are genuinely welcome.
Be direct about your visa needs early in the process
PUMA is not the highest-volume sponsor in the manufacturing sector, so transparency matters. Raising sponsorship requirements early in your conversations lets recruiters confirm internal support before both sides invest significant time in the process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does PUMA sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, PUMA sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles in the United States. The company's sponsorship activity is selective rather than high-volume, meaning it focuses on positions where specialized expertise is genuinely required. Candidates in technical, engineering, and corporate operations functions are best positioned to be considered for sponsorship.
Which departments at PUMA are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Based on PUMA's industry and sponsorship patterns, roles in product development, technical design, supply chain, and corporate functions such as finance or technology are the most likely candidates for H-1B sponsorship. Retail and general operations roles are less likely to meet the specialty occupation threshold required for H-1B eligibility.
How do I know if a specific PUMA job listing is open to H-1B sponsorship?
Job listings rarely state sponsorship availability explicitly. The most reliable approach is to ask directly during the recruiter screening call. Alternatively, Migrate Mate lets you browse PUMA openings filtered by verified sponsorship history, so you can identify roles where international candidates have a realistic path forward before investing time in an application.
How do I time my application to PUMA around the H-1B cap?
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in early April for an October 1 start date. To meet that deadline, you typically need an accepted offer by February or March at the latest. If you're targeting PUMA, aim to begin networking and applying no later than the preceding November or December to leave enough room for internal approvals and petition preparation.
Does PUMA sponsor Green Cards for international employees?
PUMA's publicly available sponsorship activity is concentrated in the H-1B category. Green Card sponsorship, which typically requires an employer to initiate a lengthy PERM labor certification process, is less common and generally reserved for employees who have already demonstrated long-term value to the organization. It is worth discussing long-term immigration support directly with a recruiter or hiring manager if that is a priority for you.
