Tailor your resume to diagnostic systems
Quest Diagnostics Engineering roles often intersect with laboratory information systems, healthcare data pipelines, and regulated software environments. Framing your experience around HIPAA-compliant systems or clinical data platforms signals direct relevance before your application reaches a recruiter.
Verify E-Verify enrollment before applying
As a federal contractor, Quest Diagnostics is required to use E-Verify to confirm work authorization. Confirming this upfront means you can confidently target their roles knowing your F-1 OPT or H-1B status will be recognized through a compliant onboarding process.
Align your offer timeline with H-1B cap deadlines
If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, work backward from the April 1 filing window. Securing your Engineering offer by late February gives Quest's legal team enough time to prepare the I-129 petition and Labor Condition Application with the DOL before the registration deadline.
Ask about PERM sponsorship during offer negotiation
Quest Diagnostics sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Engineering staff, which requires PERM labor certification through the DOL. Raising this in the offer stage, not after onboarding, helps you understand their internal timeline and whether your role's duties support a specific classification.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Engineering roles
Engineering openings at Quest are spread across IT infrastructure, data engineering, and lab systems teams and don't always use consistent job titles. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Quest Diagnostics Engineering positions that list visa sponsorship, so you're not manually sifting through unsponsored listings.
Prepare documentation for specialty occupation evidence
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions where the job description could fit a general IT or engineering role. Before your interview, confirm with the hiring team that the role requires a specific degree field, since vague job duties can trigger a Request for Evidence that delays your start date.

Find Engineering at Quest Diagnostics JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Quest Diagnostics sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Quest Diagnostics sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Engineering roles. The company files petitions through the standard cap-subject process, meaning your offer needs to be in place before the USCIS registration window opens each March. Roles involving laboratory systems, software development, and data infrastructure have historically supported H-1B sponsorship, though each petition depends on the specific job duties and degree requirements.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Quest Diagnostics?
Applications go through Quest Diagnostics' careers portal, where Engineering roles are listed under categories like IT, software, and data systems. Filtering by those categories and cross-referencing with Migrate Mate helps you identify which open positions explicitly support visa sponsorship. Tailoring your application to highlight experience with healthcare data systems or regulated software environments improves your relevance to their Engineering teams.
Which visa types does Quest Diagnostics commonly use for Engineering roles?
Quest Diagnostics sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Engineering positions, along with employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering disciplines without going through the H-1B lottery. F-1 OPT holders in STEM fields may also qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension, which extends your authorized work period while employer sponsorship is pursued.
What qualifications does Quest Diagnostics expect for Engineering roles?
Most Engineering roles at Quest Diagnostics require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline. Roles touching clinical or laboratory systems often expect familiarity with healthcare IT standards, including HL7 or FHIR integration experience. For H-1B purposes, the degree field must directly align with the specific role's duties to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Engineering hires at Quest Diagnostics?
For H-1B sponsorship, the process runs through a fixed annual cycle: USCIS registration opens in March, selected petitions are filed by April 1, and employment typically begins October 1. PERM labor certification for Green Card sponsorship can take one to two years depending on DOL processing backlogs. If you're on F-1 OPT with a STEM extension, you have up to three years of authorized work time, which often covers the H-1B transition period.
