- Configures and maintains business systems and applications to ensure they operate efficiently and meet the functional needs of users across the university
- Manages daily operations of enterprise systems that support administrative, academic, and operational processes, ensuring consistent performance and availability
- Troubleshoots technical issues and resolves system errors, working with vendors or internal IT teams as needed to restore functionality and minimize disruptions
- Implements updates, patches, and system enhancements to improve functionality, address security vulnerabilities, and align systems with evolving institutional requirements

In this role, the Systems and Business Analyst partners with Student Affairs departments to gather and document business requirements, analyze workflows, and translate operational needs into functional system solutions. The position leads technology investigations and implementations, manages competing priorities across diverse stakeholders, and supports effective change management to ensure successful adoption of new and enhanced systems.
The position serves as a campus administrator for applications owned by the Division of Student Affairs and facilitates divisional use of enterprise technology solutions. Examples of supported platforms may include PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (SIS), Event Management System (EMS), Ideal Logic, CampusGroups, and Slack.
This role represents Student Affairs on university cross-functional teams to ensure divisional technology needs are met and serves as a liaison with technology vendors and RIT Information Technology Services (ITS). The Systems and Business Analyst is a key member of the Assessment, Technology, and Communications (ATC) team, supporting division-wide initiatives, and reports directly to the ATC Director of Systems and Business Analysis. This position is responsible for supervising and mentoring approximately 3-5 student employees who support various engagement technologies, through ticket triage and documentation.
The position requires the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in accessible terms to diverse audiences and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Experience working with or a willingness to learn accessibility-centered practices and inclusive technologies is valued.
Remote Work Eligibility: This is a hybrid role, with the option for full-time on-site work if preferred. The work location schedule is determined on a semester basis in coordination with department leadership.
