About the Role
We are hiring a Fire Suppression & Hood Systems Foreman to lead technicians and oversee installation, inspection, and servicing of commercial kitchen fire suppression systems and ventilation hood systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, fast-paced field experience, and the ability to supervise teams on active job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise hood & fire suppression technicians
- Install, service, and recharge commercial kitchen fire suppression systems (ANSUL or similar)
- Perform inspections and maintenance on hood systems and ductwork
- Coordinate daily job assignments, routes, and field schedules
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 96 and local NYC regulations
- Complete service reports, inspection forms, and job documentation
- Communicate with office staff, project managers, and clients
- Train and mentor junior technicians
- Maintain tools, equipment, and safety standards
Requirements
- 2+ years experience with kitchen fire suppression or hood systems
- Experience supervising or leading technicians
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 96
- Ability to work in a fast-paced commercial environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to read and interpret system layouts and manufacturer specs
Preferred
- ANSUL certification
- Fire extinguisher experience
- Hood cleaning experience
- OSHA 30
- Experience with commercial kitchens or restaurant fire safety
