Align your credentials with Sandvik's requirements
Sandvik's Operations roles in mining and natural resources often require safety certifications alongside engineering or industrial credentials. Verify your international qualifications translate clearly for U.S. hiring managers before applying, as ambiguity around foreign credentials stalls offers.
Target roles with equipment or field exposure
Sandvik's Operations hiring skews toward candidates with hands-on experience in heavy industrial or mining environments. Job postings for plant supervisors, maintenance coordinators, or production planners align most closely with their active sponsorship history in this function.
Raise sponsorship early in recruiter conversations
Sandvik sponsors multiple visa types, so confirm which category fits your situation before a verbal offer is made. Waiting until the offer stage to clarify whether your status requires H-1B cap filing versus a TN or OPT extension can introduce delays that cost you the role.
Understand the LCA timeline for Operations offers
Before USCIS processes your H-1B petition, Sandvik's legal team must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL, certifying your prevailing wage. Budget at least two to three weeks for LCA certification before the I-129 petition can be submitted.
Use OPT strategically if you're transitioning from F-1
If you're on F-1 OPT, Sandvik's CPT and OPT sponsorship history means an Operations internship or co-op can become a direct pipeline to a full-time sponsored role. A STEM OPT extension gives you up to three years to secure a cap-subject H-1B through the annual lottery.
Search Sandvik's open Operations roles on Migrate Mate
Filtering for Operations jobs at companies with verified sponsorship histories saves time. Use Migrate Mate to browse Sandvik's current Operations openings and confirm which positions are actively open to visa-sponsored candidates before reaching out to recruiters.

Find Operations at Sandvik JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sandvik sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Sandvik sponsors H-1B visas for Operations positions. Their sponsorship activity covers both initial H-1B cap filings and transfers for candidates already in H-1B status. If you're targeting a cap-subject filing, timing your offer around the April lottery window is critical, since USCIS only accepts new registrations once per fiscal year.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Sandvik?
Apply directly through Sandvik's careers portal, but first use Migrate Mate to identify which Operations roles are currently open and have a sponsorship-friendly profile. Tailor your application to highlight industrial operations experience, safety certifications, and any mining or heavy equipment background, since those credentials align with what Sandvik prioritizes in this function.
Which visa types does Sandvik commonly use for Operations positions?
Sandvik sponsors H-1B, TN, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Operations roles. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported, making Sandvik accessible at multiple career stages. TN visas can be a faster path for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Operations roles, since there's no lottery requirement and processing is typically faster than H-1B.
What qualifications does Sandvik expect for sponsored Operations roles?
Sandvik's Operations roles in mining and natural resources typically require a degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field, combined with hands-on field or plant experience. For specialty occupation H-1B eligibility, your degree must align directly with the specific role. Candidates with certifications in mining safety, equipment maintenance, or production systems have a stronger profile for both the job offer and the petition.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Operations role at Sandvik?
Timeline depends on visa type. A TN for Canadian or Mexican nationals can be processed at the border or port of entry in a single day. An H-1B requires DOL Labor Condition Application certification followed by USCIS petition processing, which typically takes three to six months under regular processing or two to four weeks with premium processing. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 adds a multi-year process on top of that.
