Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding AI ML Engineering Jobs at Scale AI Jobs
Align your portfolio to RLHF and data pipelines
Scale AI's AI ML Engineering roles center on reinforcement learning from human feedback and high-throughput data labeling systems. Before applying, make sure your portfolio includes projects that demonstrate experience training or fine-tuning models at scale, not just standard ML benchmarks.
Verify your visa type against Scale AI's sponsored categories
Scale AI sponsors multiple visa types for this function. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility early. E-3 and TN holders should note these require a new filing with each employer, so factor the LCA certification timeline into your start date negotiations.
Target roles explicitly requiring ML infrastructure experience
Scale AI distinguishes between applied ML research and ML engineering. Sponsorship is most consistent for roles requiring systems-level skills like distributed training, model serving, or data pipeline architecture. Applying to roles that match your infrastructure background improves both offer and sponsorship outcomes.
Request premium processing during offer negotiation
For H-1B transfers or cap-exempt filings, USCIS premium processing returns a decision within 15 business days. Raise this with your recruiter before signing an offer letter. Large technology employers often cover this cost, but it's rarely offered unless you ask.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open AI ML Engineering roles at Scale AI
Finding roles where sponsorship is actively offered, not just historically filed, requires filtering for current open positions. Use Migrate Mate to browse AI ML Engineering openings at Scale AI filtered by visa type so you're targeting active sponsoring roles, not stale listings.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation before the offer stage
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to demonstrate that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Gather your degree transcripts, any advanced coursework in ML or systems engineering, and prior employment letters early so your employer's immigration counsel can build the petition without delays on your end.

Find AI ML Engineering at Scale AI JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Scale AI sponsor H-1B visas for AI ML Engineers?
Yes, Scale AI sponsors H-1B visas for AI ML Engineering roles. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, sponsorship depends on lottery selection in April. For candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer, Scale AI can file an H-1B transfer, which isn't subject to the cap and can begin once USCIS receives the petition.
Which visa types are commonly used for AI ML Engineering roles at Scale AI?
Scale AI sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for this function. Australian citizens are well-positioned to use the E-3, which has no lottery and allows two-year renewable status. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying ML engineering occupations may be eligible for TN classification, which can be obtained at a port of entry.
How do I apply for AI ML Engineering jobs at Scale AI?
Applications go through Scale AI's careers portal. To find roles that are actively open and confirmed for visa sponsorship, browse AI ML Engineering listings at Scale AI on Migrate Mate, which filters positions by visa type. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific engineering stack in the job description, particularly around model evaluation infrastructure, data pipelines, and RLHF systems that Scale AI builds.
What qualifications does Scale AI expect for AI ML Engineering roles?
Most AI ML Engineering roles at Scale AI require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field, along with hands-on experience in ML frameworks like PyTorch or JAX. Roles at senior levels typically expect experience with distributed training systems, model evaluation at scale, or building annotation and RLHF pipelines. USCIS requires the degree field to align with the job's core duties for H-1B specialty occupation eligibility.
How do I manage timing if Scale AI is sponsoring my H-1B for the first time?
If you need a new H-1B cap slot, USCIS opens registration in March and conducts the lottery before April 1, with an October 1 start date for selected petitions. That gap means you'd need to be on a bridge status like F-1 OPT or another valid visa until October. Discuss this timeline with your recruiter and Scale AI's immigration team well before your current status expires.
