Focus on clinical and rehabilitation roles
Select Medical's sponsorship activity is concentrated in direct patient care and allied health disciplines. Target roles in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and specialty nursing, where the company has a consistent track record of supporting visa candidates.
Understand both visa pathways on offer
Select Medical sponsors both H-1B and employment-based Green Cards. Knowing which pathway fits your credentials and timeline helps you ask the right questions during interviews and signals to recruiters that you understand the process.
Approach specialty hospital divisions directly
Select Medical's long-term acute care and inpatient rehabilitation facilities tend to have persistent staffing needs. Targeting these divisions over general outpatient sites may improve your chances of finding a sponsorship-eligible opening.
Highlight specialty credentials early in your application
Healthcare employers scrutinize clinical qualifications before considering sponsorship. Lead with board certifications, licensure, and any U.S.-equivalent credential evaluations upfront so recruiters can assess sponsorship viability without back-and-forth.
Search for verified sponsoring employers before applying
Not every job posting from a large healthcare network comes with sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications on Select Medical roles that have a documented track record.
Ask about Green Card timelines during the offer stage
Because Select Medical sponsors employment-based Green Cards, candidates with long-term U.S. goals should clarify during negotiations whether the role comes with a commitment to permanent residency sponsorship and what the typical timeline looks like.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Select Medical sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Select Medical sponsors H-1B visas. Sponsorship is focused on specialty clinical roles where the position requires a specific degree in a relevant field, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, or nursing. Because the company operates across a large network of specialty hospitals and rehabilitation centers, eligibility tends to vary by facility and role, so confirming sponsorship availability directly with the hiring team is essential.
What types of visas does Select Medical sponsor?
Select Medical sponsors H-1B visas for temporary work authorization and employment-based Green Cards for permanent residency. The Green Card pathway is particularly relevant for healthcare professionals seeking long-term stability in the U.S. Both visa types require the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field is a standard requirement.
Which departments or roles at Select Medical are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Select Medical is most commonly associated with licensed clinical roles, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and registered nurses in specialty care settings. Long-term acute care hospitals and inpatient rehabilitation facilities within the network tend to have the most consistent need for internationally trained clinicians, making them stronger targets for sponsorship-eligible candidates.
How do I find open jobs at Select Medical that offer visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to search specifically for sponsorship-confirmed openings rather than relying on general job listings. Migrate Mate aggregates roles from employers with verified sponsorship histories, so you can filter for Select Medical positions that are backed by real filing data. From there, applying directly through the company's careers portal and stating your visa requirements clearly in your application is the recommended next step.
How do I approach Select Medical's application process as an international candidate?
State your visa status and authorization needs clearly in your initial application. Select Medical's recruitment teams in healthcare are accustomed to working with internationally trained clinicians, but they need to confirm sponsorship feasibility early. Come prepared with your credential evaluation, active or pending U.S. licensure, and a clear understanding of which visa type you need, whether H-1B or an employment-based Green Card, to move the conversation forward efficiently.
