Position Summary:
This dual-role position offers a unique opportunity for a qualified professional to serve both as a practitioner within a healthcare or organizational setting and as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructor for the Medical Assistant (MA) program in partnership with Klamath Community College (KCC). The successful candidate will divide their time between performing industry-related or administrative duties within their field and delivering MA instruction and/or capstone experiences to high school students on a CTE campus. This position is designed for a healthcare professional with subject-matter expertise who is passionate about workforce development and supporting student pathways into postsecondary education, apprenticeships, and healthcare careers. Instruction will emphasize industry-aligned competencies, hands-on clinical skills, and real-world applications that align with KCC curriculum standards, CTE pathways, and Medical Assistant program and capstone requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent professional experience with certification.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working in a healthcare environment (clinical or administrative). Prior teaching or mentoring experience is preferred but not required.
Licenses/Certifications: Necessary certifications as applicable to experience e.g., RN, LPN, CMA, etc.

Medium physical demands capability required. Ability to lift ten pounds. Able to work within time constraints; high stress situations and multiple tasks; ability to maintain a professional appearance; be courteous to co-workers and patient/family. Participating in and promote teamwork.

CTE Center (0.5 FTE)
- Teach healthcare-related courses, including but not limited to medical terminology, anatomy, patient care, and medical ethics, to high school students.
- Develop, plan, and implement curriculum for the assigned CTE courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and educational goals.
- Provide hands-on instruction, mentorship, and support to students to enhance their understanding of healthcare professions.
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and achievement.
- Collaborate with school staff to monitor student progress, implement assessments, and provide guidance on career exploration and development.
- Organize and facilitate career-focused events, such as internships, job shadowing opportunities, and guest speakers from the medical field.
