Verify your NCLEX and state licensure first
Oregon requires an active RN license before Sky Lakes can move forward with any visa filing. Get your NCLEX results and apply for Oregon Board of Nursing licensure early, delays here push back every downstream step in the sponsorship process.
Confirm your credential evaluation covers nursing
If your nursing degree is from outside the U.S., get a CGFNS or NACES-approved evaluation that specifically assesses nursing program equivalency. A general academic evaluation won't satisfy the specialty occupation documentation Sky Lakes needs for H-1B filings.
Target units with consistent open requisitions
Sky Lakes regularly posts openings across med-surg, ICU, and emergency departments. Applying to units with recurring vacancies signals genuine workforce need, which strengthens the employer's case when filing a Labor Condition Application with the DOL.

Which visa types does Sky Lakes Medical Center use for Registered Nurse roles?
Sky Lakes Medical Center sponsors H-1B visas for most international Registered Nurse hires.
