Align your credentials to Snowflake's technical bar
Snowflake's Customer Success Engineers are expected to demonstrate proficiency with cloud data platforms, SQL, and enterprise data architecture. Document hands-on project experience with these tools before applying, since USCIS specialty occupation approval depends on showing a direct link between your degree and the role.
Target roles where your visa category fits
F-1 OPT and CPT timelines don't always sync with Snowflake's hiring cycles. Identify whether a role is posted for a start date that overlaps with your authorized work period, and flag this proactively in recruiter conversations to avoid offer timing conflicts.
Research Snowflake's LCA filings before your interview
DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data shows the prevailing wage Snowflake certified for Customer Success Engineer roles by location. Reviewing this before salary negotiations ensures you're asking for a figure that aligns with what Snowflake has already committed to pay for sponsored positions.
Ask about the H-1B lottery timeline during offer negotiation
If you're moving from F-1 OPT to H-1B, confirm when Snowflake submits lottery registrations and whether they file premium processing. A 60-day OPT grace period won't protect you if there's a gap between your OPT expiration and an H-1B cap-gap bridge.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Customer Success Engineer roles
Snowflake posts Customer Success Engineer openings across multiple locations, and availability shifts quickly. Migrate Mate filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can identify which positions are open to sponsored candidates without sorting through listings manually.
Prepare your employer for the PERM timeline if you want a Green Card
Snowflake sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification typically takes 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition can be filed. Raise long-term sponsorship intent early so your manager and HR can initiate the process before your H-1B renewals become a bottleneck.

Find Customer Success Engineer at Snowflake JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Snowflake sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Success Engineers?
Yes, Snowflake sponsors H-1B visas for Customer Success Engineers. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field such as computer science, information systems, or engineering. Sponsorship typically begins after an offer is extended, and Snowflake works with immigration counsel to file the petition and Labor Condition Application with DOL.
How do I apply for Customer Success Engineer jobs at Snowflake?
Applications go through Snowflake's careers portal, where Customer Success Engineer roles are listed by region and segment. You can also browse open positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. Snowflake's hiring process for this role generally includes a recruiter screen, a technical assessment focused on data cloud concepts, and multiple interviews with the customer success and solutions engineering teams.
Which visa types does Snowflake sponsor for Customer Success Engineer roles?
Snowflake sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, EB-2, and EB-3 visa categories for Customer Success Engineers. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates, with H-1B sponsorship following after the cap-subject lottery. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship is available for longer-tenure employees pursuing permanent residence.
What qualifications does Snowflake expect for a sponsored Customer Success Engineer?
Snowflake typically expects a technical bachelor's degree and hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, SQL, and enterprise software implementation. Customer-facing experience in a post-sales or solutions engineering capacity is strongly preferred. For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires that the role normally demands a specific degree in a related field, so candidates with degrees in unrelated disciplines may face additional scrutiny during adjudication.
How do I time my application if my OPT is expiring soon?
If your F-1 OPT expires before October 1 of the following fiscal year, the H-1B cap-gap provision may bridge your work authorization if Snowflake files your H-1B petition before your OPT end date. USCIS must receive the petition while your OPT is still valid. Start conversations with Snowflake recruiters well before the March registration window to confirm the company's internal deadlines for new H-1B sponsorships.
