Target engineering and hardware roles
Synaptics' sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines tied to semiconductor design, firmware, and embedded systems. Focus your search on roles in these areas, they represent the core of Synaptics' international hiring pipeline within Electronics and Hardware.
Understand which visa types Synaptics supports
Synaptics sponsors Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways, and accepts F-1 OPT, CPT, and TN status. If you're on OPT or pursuing permanent residency, these pathways make Synaptics a practical long-term fit for your immigration goals.
Position yourself for Green Card sponsorship early
Synaptics' sponsorship pattern skews heavily toward permanent residency rather than temporary work visas. Candidates who signal long-term commitment and technical depth are better positioned to receive Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 processes.
Highlight specialized semiconductor or interface expertise
Synaptics designs chips for touchpads, fingerprint sensors, and display drivers, a narrow technical domain. Candidates with relevant hardware, VLSI, or embedded software experience stand out and are more likely to trigger the sponsorship conversations that lead to Green Card filings.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying
Not every Synaptics role will come with sponsorship attached. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and identify open roles at Synaptics that are confirmed to support international candidates.
Leverage OPT or TN status as a starting point
Synaptics accepts F-1 OPT, CPT, and TN candidates, which can serve as an entry point before pursuing long-term sponsorship. Joining on a temporary authorization while demonstrating strong performance is a practical path toward Green Card discussions at a hardware-focused employer like Synaptics.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Synaptics sponsor H-1B visas?
Based on available sponsorship data, Synaptics has not been an active H-1B visa sponsor in recent periods. The company's sponsorship activity is focused on Green Card pathways, EB-2 and EB-3, as well as temporary work authorizations like F-1 OPT, CPT, and TN visa. International candidates targeting Synaptics should plan around these visa types rather than expecting H-1B visa sponsorship.
What visa types does Synaptics sponsor?
Synaptics sponsors permanent residency through the EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories, and supports candidates who hold F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, or TN status. This mix makes Synaptics particularly relevant for students on OPT, Canadian and Mexican professionals on TN, and engineers looking to pursue a direct path to a U.S. Green Card within the semiconductor and electronics sector.
Which departments or roles at Synaptics are most likely to receive sponsorship?
Synaptics' core business is human interface semiconductors, touchpads, fingerprint sensors, display driver ICs, and smart home chips. Sponsorship activity is most concentrated in hardware engineering, VLSI design, firmware development, and embedded systems. Candidates in these technical disciplines are most aligned with the roles where Synaptics has historically supported international workers through Green Card filings.
How do I find open sponsored roles at Synaptics?
The most reliable way to find verified sponsored roles at Synaptics is through Migrate Mate, which filters job listings by confirmed sponsorship history so you can identify positions that are genuinely open to international candidates. Searching directly on Synaptics' careers page is also useful, but pairing that with Migrate Mate helps you focus only on roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
How do I approach the application timeline for Green Card sponsorship at Synaptics?
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is a multi-step process that typically begins after you're established in a role, not at the offer stage. At a company like Synaptics, the employer initiates the PERM labor certification process, which alone can take a year or more. Plan to demonstrate strong performance in your first year before sponsorship conversations realistically begin, and confirm the company's intent to sponsor before accepting an offer.
