Tailor your resume to fintech project experience
Synechron's backend roles frequently support financial services clients, so framing your experience around APIs, microservices, or data pipelines in regulated environments will position you more competitively than a generic software engineering resume.
Search for open roles using Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate lets you filter Backend Software Developer openings specifically at employers with a verified sponsorship history. Browse current Synechron listings there to identify active roles before applying directly through their portal.
Ask about cap-exempt filing eligibility early
Synechron occasionally places developers at qualifying nonprofit or university-affiliated client sites, which can make an H-1B petition cap-exempt. Raise this during recruiter conversations, since it affects whether you can start before the next October 1 cap date.
Align your degree field to the posted job description
USCIS requires backend developer roles to qualify as specialty occupations, meaning your degree must correspond to the specific technical domain in the job description. A mismatch between your major and the listed stack can trigger an RFE during the H-1B petition review.
Clarify the PERM timeline if targeting a Green Card
Synechron sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but the PERM labor certification process through DOL typically takes a year or more before an I-140 can be filed. Understand where you'd fall in the priority date backlog for your country of birth before factoring permanent residency into your decision.

Find Backend Software Developer at Synechron JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Synechron sponsor H-1B visas for Backend Software Developers?
Yes, Synechron sponsors H-1B visas for Backend Software Developer roles and has done so consistently across multiple recent fiscal years. The company operates in the technology and financial services consulting space, which relies heavily on international technical talent. If you're currently on F-1 OPT or an expiring H-1B from another employer, Synechron's sponsorship practice covers the full petition and transfer process.
How do I apply for Backend Software Developer jobs at Synechron?
You can apply directly through Synechron's careers portal or find visa-sponsorship-confirmed openings through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by sponsorship history. When applying, clearly indicate your current visa status and authorization timeline. Synechron's recruiting team typically screens for technical fit first, then discusses sponsorship logistics once you've cleared the initial interview stage.
Which visa types does Synechron commonly use for Backend Software Developer roles?
Synechron sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 categories for Backend Software Developers. H-1B is the most commonly used pathway for full-time hires transitioning off student visas. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying software roles. Green Card sponsorship through PERM is generally initiated after a period of employment.
What qualifications does Synechron expect for Backend Software Developer candidates needing sponsorship?
Synechron typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, since USCIS requires a qualifying degree to support an H-1B specialty occupation petition. Practical experience with backend frameworks, cloud platforms, and API development strengthens your application. Roles supporting financial services clients often prioritize familiarity with high-availability systems or compliance-sensitive environments.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at Synechron for Backend Software Developers?
The timeline depends on your current status and which visa pathway applies. An H-1B cap filing locks you into an October 1 start date, meaning a March lottery registration and months of waiting if selected. H-1B transfers for candidates already in status can move faster. Green Card sponsorship through the PERM process involves a DOL audit phase that typically spans 12 to 18 months before reaching the I-140 stage.
