POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Manager - Revit is a working leader who divides time approximately equally between technical project support and personnel management. The role supports lead designers on active packaged-equipment and construction-documentation projects while supervising, coaching, and developing design/drafting personnel. The position provides hands-on Revit expertise by creating and checking models and drawings, helping coordinate project design execution, reinforcing TAS standards and common architectures, and supporting engineering leadership in delivering safe, compliant, high-quality work on schedule and within budget.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Support and Technical Execution (approximately 50%)
-
Support lead designers on moderate to complex packaged-equipment and construction-documentation projects from turnover through release by assisting with design coordination, technical problem-solving, workload planning, and the quality and timeliness of assigned deliverables.
-
Interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, specifications, site and equipment layouts, piping plans, general arrangement drawings, bills of materials, and customer design inputs.
-
Create, modify, check, and approve Revit models and construction documents, including coordinated views, sheets, plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, annotations, dimensions, callouts, and Revit families.
-
Model and document structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and controls systems while considering manufacturing constraints, installation access, maintenance clearances, constructability, applicable building codes, and recognized standards.
-
Create and check project models and drawings as assigned, including views, sheets, plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, dimensions, annotations, callouts, and families; verify accuracy, completeness, coordination, constructability, and compliance before release.
-
Assist lead designers with project drafting plans, labor estimates, production schedules, deliverable lists, model-development requirements, resource needs, and progress tracking; communicate risks, scope changes, and forecast impacts to the lead designer and engineering leadership.
-
Attend bid, kickoff/turnover, customer, vendor, project, coordination, and production meetings as requested to support the lead designer and coordinate design interfaces with engineering, project management, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and other stakeholders.
-
Identify and recommend practical, value-engineered modeling and documentation solutions to the lead designer without compromising safety, quality, constructability, maintainability, or customer requirements.
Personnel Leadership and Department Support (approximately 50%)
-
Provide day-to-day supervision, work assignment, prioritization, and workload balancing for assigned designers and drafters; monitor task completion, quality, and schedule performance.
-
Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, coaching, recognition, and performance remediation in partnership with Engineering Leadership and Human Resources.
-
Establish clear expectations and provide frequent feedback; mentor employees in Revit, BIM and drafting practices, checking discipline, project execution, communication, and professional development.
-
Support manpower planning, utilization forecasting, project staffing, ETC/EAC updates, KPI tracking, and reporting of individual and team performance, including efficiency and accuracy.
-
Develop, improve, publish, and enforce design/drafting standards, checking procedures, templates, common architectures, Revit family and library practices, model-management requirements, documentation standards, and configuration-management controls.
-
Help investigate and implement new technologies, hardware, software, cloud-based collaboration tools, and streamlined procedures in coordination with management, IT, and vendors; organize technical training as needed.
-
Serve as an escalation point for technical and personnel issues, resolving routine matters and elevating significant risks or decisions to Engineering Leadership.
-
Reinforce a collaborative, accountable, customer-focused culture and build effective working relationships within the department and across TAS.
-
Travel to customer, vendor, or project sites as required and perform other responsibilities assigned by TAS.
-
Other TAS assigned duties.
JOB SKILLS:
-
Advanced, hands-on Revit capability and the ability to independently deliver coordinated, production-ready models and construction drawings with limited direction.
-
Proven capability supporting lead designers and project teams in packaged equipment, industrial plant, data center, HVAC, piping, mechanical, structural, and multidisciplinary Revit design and documentation.

Broad understanding of structural, mechanical, electrical, and controls system interfaces, including operation, maintenance, access, clearance, coordination, and constructability constraints.
-
Advanced ability to read and interpret P&IDs, architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, redlines, and related project documents.
-
Working knowledge of codes and standards applicable to TAS equipment and construction documentation, including NEC, IEC, ASME, ANSI, AISC, AWS, UMC, OSHA, building codes, and other project-specific requirements.
-
Strong project-support skills, including labor estimating, task scheduling, resource coordination, model and drawing progress tracking, revision management, and change-impact communication.
-
Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, develop, and hold employees accountable while maintaining constructive working relationships.

Target technical and engineering roles
TAS Energy's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines tied to manufacturing and energy systems. Focus your application on engineering, design, and operations roles where specialty occupation criteria are clearest and sponsorship is most likely to be supported.
Leverage your OPT or CPT status early
TAS Energy sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT candidates, making internships and early-career roles a real entry point. Engaging during your OPT window gives the company time to evaluate fit before committing to H-1B sponsorship down the line.
Understand the H-1B timeline before applying
H-1B petitions must be filed in April for an October start date. If you're targeting TAS Energy for sponsorship, time your application and offer process so your start date aligns with when cap-subject H-1B status becomes available.
Demonstrate specialty occupation alignment clearly
Manufacturing employers like TAS Energy need to establish that your role qualifies as a specialty occupation. In your application materials, make the connection between your degree field and the specific technical functions of the role as explicit as possible.
Research open roles with verified sponsorship history
Not every job listing signals willingness to sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your energy on TAS Energy openings where international candidates have a genuine path forward.
Prepare for a longer hiring process
Sponsorship adds legal and administrative steps to the hiring process at manufacturing firms. Build extra lead time into your job search timeline when targeting TAS Energy, especially if your current status has an expiration date approaching.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does TAS Energy sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, TAS Energy sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles in its manufacturing operations. Sponsorship is most common for technical and engineering positions where a specific degree is required. Because sponsorship volume is selective rather than high, candidates should demonstrate a clear specialty occupation tie between their degree and the target role when applying.
What visa types does TAS Energy sponsor?
TAS Energy sponsors H-1B visas as well as F-1 OPT and CPT work authorizations. This makes TAS Energy accessible to both students in their practical training period and professionals seeking longer-term work visa sponsorship. Green Card sponsorship has not been a consistent part of their recent sponsorship activity.
Which departments or roles at TAS Energy are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at TAS Energy tends to follow the company's core business in energy equipment manufacturing. Engineering roles, including mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering, are the most natural fit for H-1B sponsorship given the specialty occupation requirements. Operations and technical design positions are also reasonable targets, while administrative or generalist roles are less likely to qualify.
How do I find open jobs at TAS Energy that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most efficient way to find TAS Energy roles where visa sponsorship is a real option. The platform verifies sponsorship history so you can identify openings that align with your visa status, whether you're on OPT or looking for H-1B sponsorship, without having to manually research each listing.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by TAS Energy?
Apply to roles that directly match your degree field, since specialty occupation approval depends on that alignment. If you're on OPT or CPT, pursuing an internship or early-career role at TAS Energy is a strong strategy for building a relationship before seeking H-1B sponsorship. Engage early in the hiring cycle to leave enough time for the legal process before your current status expires.
