Target ABB's core engineering disciplines
ABB's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical roles tied to its electrification and automation business lines. Focus your application on electrical, mechanical, software, and controls engineering positions where ABB has a strong history of sponsoring international talent.
Understand ABB's dual sponsorship pathways
ABB sponsors both H-1B and Green Card visas, meaning a long-term career path is genuinely possible. If you're early in your U.S. work authorization journey, ask recruiters explicitly about their PERM and EB-2/EB-3 sponsorship process during the interview stage.
Prioritize ABB's U.S. manufacturing hubs
ABB operates major facilities across the U.S., and sponsorship activity tends to concentrate in locations tied to manufacturing operations. Research which ABB sites align with your specialty, roles at larger facilities often have more established sponsorship infrastructure and HR processes.
Apply early in ABB's hiring cycles
Because ABB files H-1B petitions within annual cap deadlines, timing matters. Getting an offer in hand well before the April lottery registration window gives ABB's immigration team enough runway to prepare and file your petition without complications.
Align your resume to ABB's project-based work
ABB values candidates with hands-on experience in industrial automation, power systems, or smart manufacturing. Highlighting specific projects, technologies, or certifications relevant to ABB's product portfolio strengthens your case and demonstrates you're a fit for the roles they sponsor most.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified ABB openings
Not every ABB job listing elsewhere confirms sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your energy on ABB roles where international candidates have a genuine shot.

Does ABB sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, ABB sponsors H-1B visas for qualified candidates in technical and engineering roles across its U.S. operations. ABB has a consistent track record as an active H-1B sponsor in the manufacturing sector, particularly for positions in electrical engineering, automation, and software development. Candidates should confirm sponsorship availability directly with ABB's recruiting team when applying.
What types of visas does ABB sponsor?
ABB sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based Green Cards, primarily through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories. This means ABB can support candidates at different stages of their U.S. immigration journey, from initial work authorization through permanent residency. Roles that qualify for sponsorship are typically in engineering, technical operations, and related manufacturing disciplines.
Which departments or roles at ABB are most likely to be sponsored?
Sponsorship at ABB is most common in technical and engineering functions aligned with its core business areas, including electrification, industrial automation, motion control, and smart manufacturing. Electrical engineers, software engineers, controls engineers, and process engineers are among the roles where ABB has historically sponsored international workers. Corporate and support functions are less commonly sponsored.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at ABB?
Migrate Mate lists verified ABB job openings where sponsorship has been confirmed based on real filing history, so you're not guessing whether ABB will sponsor a particular role. Filter by company name to see current ABB openings, and prioritize roles in engineering and technical disciplines where ABB's sponsorship track record is strongest.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by ABB?
The strongest applications for ABB sponsorship come from candidates with specialized technical backgrounds that directly map to ABB's product lines, such as power systems, industrial automation, or embedded software. Coming prepared with relevant certifications, project experience, and a clear understanding of ABB's business helps. Engaging early in the process and expressing long-term career interest also signals to ABB's hiring team that sponsorship investment is worthwhile.
