Align Your Degree to Hardware Testing Domains
Teradyne's Product Engineer roles typically require electrical or computer engineering backgrounds tied to semiconductor test or embedded systems. A degree in a closely matched field strengthens your H-1B specialty occupation case from the start.
Target Roles in Semiconductor and Defense Divisions
Teradyne's sponsorship activity concentrates in its Semiconductor Test and Defense segments. Applying to Product Engineer openings within these business units puts you in front of the hiring teams most experienced with visa filing workflows.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Openings
Product Engineer postings at Teradyne don't always stay open long. Use Migrate Mate to filter for current Teradyne openings filtered by visa type so you're applying while the requisition is active and budget is confirmed.
Ask About LCA Status Before Accepting an Offer
Before signing, confirm whether your employer has filed or is prepared to file the Labor Condition Application with DOL. Delays at the LCA stage are a common bottleneck that can compress your start date window.
Prepare Hardware Validation Work Samples Early
Teradyne's Product Engineer interviews emphasize hands-on test system experience. Having documented examples of ATE bring-up, fault isolation, or test program development ready strengthens both your candidacy and the specialized-knowledge narrative in your I-129 petition.

Find Product Engineer at Teradyne JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Teradyne sponsor H-1B visas for Product Engineers?
Yes, Teradyne sponsors H-1B visas for Product Engineers. The company has a consistent track record of filing H-1B petitions for technical roles in its semiconductor test and defense divisions. Product Engineer positions typically qualify as specialty occupations given the engineering degree requirements, which is a prerequisite for H-1B eligibility under USCIS guidelines.
Which visa types does Teradyne commonly use for Product Engineer roles?
Teradyne sponsors several visa types for Product Engineers, including H-1B for most full-time hires, F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term employees pursuing permanent residence.
What qualifications does Teradyne expect for Product Engineer roles?
Teradyne's Product Engineer roles generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with automated test equipment, semiconductor test systems, or hardware bring-up is strongly preferred. Roles supporting defense programs may also require U.S. export compliance eligibility, which can affect sponsorship for certain positions.
How do I apply for Product Engineer jobs at Teradyne?
You can browse and apply for Product Engineer openings at Teradyne through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. Applications typically involve a resume review, a technical phone screen, and one or more onsite or virtual interviews focused on test system knowledge and engineering problem-solving.
How do I time my application if I need Teradyne to file an H-1B for me?
The H-1B cap filing window opens on April 1 each year, with USCIS typically accepting registrations in March. To meet this deadline, you need an offer letter and a completed LCA filed with DOL at least a few weeks prior. Starting conversations with Teradyne recruiters in the fall or winter gives enough runway to complete the offer and filing steps before the April deadline.
