Target engineering and hardware roles first
Teradyne's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines like hardware engineering, software development, and test systems. Focus your applications on roles where your background aligns with their core electronics and automation product lines.
Understand which visa types Teradyne supports
Teradyne sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT visas, as well as Green Card pathways. If you're on OPT, you can start work immediately while Teradyne pursues longer-term authorization, confirm your status timeline early in conversations with their recruiting team.
Raise sponsorship early but frame it professionally
Teradyne has a strong sponsorship track record, so the topic isn't a dealbreaker. Raise it after expressing genuine interest in the role, ask about their process rather than leading with your immigration situation.
Use Migrate Mate to surface verified Teradyne openings
Not every job posting discloses sponsorship willingness upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify Teradyne openings where international candidates have a realistic shot.
Prepare for a technical-first interview process
Teradyne's hiring process emphasizes deep technical knowledge in areas like semiconductor test, robotics, and embedded systems. Strong technical performance in interviews signals you can contribute immediately, which makes sponsorship a much easier internal conversation.
Know that Green Card sponsorship is part of Teradyne's pattern
Teradyne actively files for permanent residence on behalf of employees, not just temporary visas. If long-term U.S. authorization is your goal, ask about their Green Card sponsorship policy once you have an offer, it's a legitimate question given their active history.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Teradyne sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Teradyne sponsors H-1B visas and has a consistent history of doing so for engineering and technical roles. Sponsorship is most common in hardware engineering, software development, and test systems positions. If you're targeting Teradyne, roles aligned with their automated test equipment or robotics divisions are your strongest entry points for H-1B sponsorship.
What visa types does Teradyne sponsor?
Teradyne sponsors H-1B and TN visas for temporary work authorization, and pursues EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. They also support F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT, making them accessible to international students completing U.S. degrees. This range of visa types reflects a company that regularly hires and retains international talent across career stages.
Which departments or roles at Teradyne are most likely to get visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Teradyne is most common in technical roles within hardware engineering, software engineering, test systems development, and industrial robotics. Their core business in automated test equipment and collaborative robots requires highly specialized skills, which drives demand for international candidates in these areas. Roles in sales, marketing, or general operations are sponsored less frequently.
How do I find open sponsored roles at Teradyne?
The most reliable approach is to search for Teradyne on Migrate Mate, which filters job listings by verified sponsorship history so you can see roles where international candidates have a realistic chance. Cross-reference openings with Teradyne's official careers page to confirm the position is active, then apply directly with a tailored resume that highlights relevant technical expertise.
How do I approach the application timeline when targeting Teradyne for H-1B sponsorship?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, timing matters significantly. The H-1B lottery opens in March for an October 1 start date, so you'll want an offer in hand by late February or early March. If you're on OPT, you have more flexibility since you can start work before your H-1B is approved. Raise your visa situation clearly with the recruiter before an offer is made so Teradyne's HR team can confirm sponsorship eligibility for the specific role.
