Align your background with safety-critical systems
Torc hires engineers with demonstrable experience in autonomous systems, sensor fusion, or real-time embedded software. Frame your resume around safety standards like ISO 26262 or SOTIF before applying, since these signal direct relevance to autonomous trucking work.
Ask about cap-exempt filing pathways early
If you have previously held H-1B status and are not subject to the lottery, tell the recruiter upfront. Torc can file an H-1B transfer petition outside the April lottery window, which removes the timing dependency that trips up many engineering candidates.
Target roles that justify specialty occupation clearly
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for autonomous vehicle roles where job duties could be interpreted as generalist engineering. Apply to postings that specify a discrete engineering discipline, such as perception, planning, or controls, to support the specialty occupation determination in your petition.
Browse open Engineering roles at Torc through Migrate Mate
Filter by visa type and engineering discipline on Migrate Mate to surface Torc Robotics postings that match your sponsorship needs. This saves time vetting whether a given role actively welcomes international candidates before you invest in tailoring your application.
Prepare for a PERM labor certification timeline if targeting permanent residence
If your goal is a Green Card via EB-2 or EB-3, understand that DOL PERM processing currently runs 12 to 18 months before USCIS even sees the petition. Raise this with your hiring manager during the offer stage so the company can initiate the process without delay.

Does Torc Robotics sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Torc Robotics sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering roles. The company has an established process for filing both initial H-1B cap-subject petitions and H-1B transfers for candidates who already hold H-1B status. If you are subject to the lottery, timing your application to align with the April registration window is important since USCIS only accepts cap-subject registrations once per fiscal year.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Torc Robotics?
Applications go through Torc Robotics's careers portal. Search for open Engineering roles by discipline, such as software, systems, or hardware engineering, and submit your resume along with any portfolio materials demonstrating autonomous systems experience. Migrate Mate also lists Torc Robotics Engineering openings filtered by visa sponsorship type, which makes it straightforward to confirm a role is open to international candidates before applying.
Which visa types does Torc Robotics commonly use for Engineering hires?
Torc Robotics sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for Engineering roles. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates, while the H-1B is the primary long-term work visa. Canadian and Mexican engineers may be eligible for TN status, which can be obtained at the border without USCIS filing.
What qualifications does Torc Robotics expect for sponsored Engineering roles?
Most sponsored Engineering roles at Torc require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering field, such as computer science, electrical engineering, or robotics. Hands-on experience with autonomous systems, real-time software, or safety-critical platforms strengthens your candidacy significantly. For H-1B eligibility, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, so your degree field needs to directly align with the specific engineering position.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take after an Engineering offer from Torc Robotics?
For H-1B transfers or cap-exempt filings, USCIS standard processing runs three to five months, while premium processing accelerates this to 15 business days. F-1 OPT allows you to start working within the authorized period without waiting for USCIS approval. For Green Card sponsorship via EB-2 or EB-3, expect the full process, including DOL PERM and USCIS petition review, to take several years depending on your country of birth.
