Frame your BD experience around hardware and software integration
Trimble's manufacturing technology products sit at the intersection of hardware, software, and field operations. Positioning your Business Development background around technical solution selling or channel partnerships in industrial or geospatial markets makes your application directly relevant to their open roles.
Confirm your visa type before applying
Trimble sponsors multiple visa categories, including H-1B, TN, and OPT. Knowing which category applies to your citizenship and education status before your first recruiter call prevents delays and signals that you understand the sponsorship process, not just that you need it.
Target roles that align with LCA specialty occupation requirements
For H-1B sponsorship, DOL requires your Business Development role to qualify as a specialty occupation with a direct connection to your degree field. Sales strategy, partnership development, or market expansion roles tied to a business, engineering, or technical degree are the strongest fits at Trimble.
Use Migrate Mate to find Trimble Business Development openings
Not all Trimble Business Development roles are easy to filter by sponsorship eligibility on general job boards. Migrate Mate surfaces visa-sponsoring roles specifically, so you can identify which Trimble positions align with your visa category without manually reviewing each listing.
Ask about PERM timing during the offer stage
If your goal is a Green Card through EB-2 or EB-3, raise the question of permanent residency sponsorship timing during offer negotiation, not after you've signed. Trimble has sponsored both categories, and understanding the employer's typical PERM initiation timeline helps you plan your status transitions.
Prepare for technical competency questions in the interview
Trimble's BD interview process often probes your understanding of their product verticals, including positioning technology, mixed reality, and construction workflow tools. Demonstrating market knowledge in manufacturing or industrial tech strengthens your case beyond general sales experience.

Find Business Development at Trimble JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Trimble sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, Trimble sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development positions. To qualify, your role must meet USCIS specialty occupation standards, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, engineering, or a technical discipline. Trimble has a consistent pattern of supporting international employees in this function across its manufacturing technology divisions.
Which visa types does Trimble commonly sponsor for Business Development positions?
Trimble sponsors H-1B visas for ongoing employment and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning into full-time roles. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Business Development positions. For longer-term pathways, Trimble has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories, which involve a PERM labor certification process filed with DOL.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Trimble?
You can browse open Business Development roles directly through Trimble's careers page or use Migrate Mate to filter for visa-sponsoring positions across the company. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect relevant experience in manufacturing technology, industrial solutions, or technical partnership development. Flagging your visa status early in the recruiter screening call avoids surprises later in the process.
What qualifications does Trimble expect for Business Development roles?
Trimble typically expects a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related technical field, along with demonstrated experience in solution selling or channel development. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, your degree needs to connect directly to the role's responsibilities. Experience in geospatial, construction technology, or industrial software markets is a strong differentiator given Trimble's core verticals.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship at Trimble?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date before starting applications. The H-1B cap lottery runs once per year, with USCIS accepting registrations in March for an October 1 start date. If you're already in a grace period or nearing OPT expiration, ask Trimble's HR team about cap-exempt options or whether your role qualifies for an expedited timeline through premium processing.
