Turo Recruiting Scam Alert
We’ve learned that there are scammers targeting job candidates by impersonating Turo and its employees. We ask candidates to be careful of fraudulent job postings or suspicious recruiting activity during their job search, especially if they’re contacted through unofficial channels (such as Instagram, Telegram, MS Teams, etc.). In general, Turo interacts with candidates through our Careers page and via turo.com email addresses, and we don’t ask candidates for sensitive financial or personal info or request money as part of the hiring process (so an application fee or equipment costs). If candidates are not sure whether they’re dealing with an impersonator, they can contact Turo’s Recruiting Team at recruit@turo.com. Candidates can also report suspicious activity to the FTC or other appropriate authorities.
Turo AI Policy
Turo may use AI-enabled tools to support our recruiting operations, including gathering information from candidates, drafting communications, helping with interview note-taking and assessment, and so on. These tools only supplement our team; all decisions to advance or hire candidates are made by Turo employees. While we welcome candidates to use AI-enabled tools to help prepare for their interviews, the use of such tools, including any AI chatbots or note-takers, is not permitted during live interviews or technical assessments. We want to see how you consider and solve problems in real-time, so interviews and assessments are all you (unless we indicate otherwise and ask you specifically to use an AI-enabled tool to answer a question). If during the application process you require the use of an AI-enabled tool as a reasonable accommodation for a disability, please let us know at PeopleOps@turo.com.

Target Turo's engineering and product teams
Turo's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical roles. Focus your search on software engineering, data, and product positions where Turo has a demonstrated track record of supporting international hires through the full visa process.
Understand which visa types Turo supports
Turo sponsors H-1B visas for specialty occupation roles and supports Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. If you're on F-1 OPT or hold TN status, Turo has sponsored those categories too, giving you multiple potential entry points.
Highlight marketplace and platform experience
Turo operates a two-sided rental marketplace, so candidates with experience at similar platforms stand out. Frame your background around scale, trust, and transaction systems to align with the problems Turo's technical teams are actively solving.
Ask about Green Card sponsorship timelines early
Turo has a strong track record of supporting permanent residency, not just temporary visas. If long-term U.S. authorization matters to you, raise the Green Card pathway in recruiter conversations before you reach the offer stage.
Filter for verified sponsors before you apply
Not every listing on a job board confirms sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, letting you prioritize Turo and similar Rental & Leasing companies with confidence.
Align your application to Turo's growth areas
Turo continues to expand its platform internationally and invest in trust, payments, and host tooling. Roles in these areas are most likely to receive sponsorship support, so tailor your resume to the product domains Turo is actively scaling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Turo sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Turo sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying specialty occupation roles, primarily in engineering, data, and product. The company has an active sponsorship record and supports both initial H-1B petitions and renewals. If you're targeting Turo, confirm sponsorship eligibility with the recruiter early, as not every open role will qualify.
What visa types does Turo sponsor?
Turo sponsors H-1B visas for temporary work authorization and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for permanent residency. The company has also sponsored F-1 OPT extensions and TN visas, making it accessible to candidates at multiple stages of their U.S. immigration journey, from recent graduates to mid-career professionals.
Which departments or roles at Turo are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Turo is most common in technical functions: software engineering, data science, machine learning, and product management. These roles fall squarely within the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B classification. Operations and business roles are less frequently sponsored, so candidates in non-technical functions should confirm eligibility before investing significant time in the application process.
How do I find open roles at Turo that offer visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to search for Turo on Migrate Mate, which verifies sponsorship history so you can see which companies have a real track record before applying. Once you identify a relevant role, review the job description carefully and ask the recruiter directly whether the position is open to H-1B or other visa sponsorship during your first conversation.
How do I approach the hiring process at Turo as an international candidate?
Be upfront about your visa status from the first recruiter call. Turo has an established process for sponsored hires, so transparency early avoids wasted time on both sides. Come prepared to discuss your current status, any OPT or grace period deadlines, and whether you need H-1B cap-subject sponsorship or a transfer. Technical candidates should also expect a standard multi-round engineering interview regardless of visa type.
