Description
Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a Senior Public Relations Coordinator to join our team. This position sits at the center of how the firm communicates — externally with the media and market, and internally with its own people. The Senior PR Coordinator operates with meaningful independence, moving work forward with sound judgment. Everything this role produces reflects the firm, so it demands someone who is equal parts skilled writer, organized operator, and trusted advisor to attorneys across the firm.
Responsibilities
Media Relations:
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with the firm’s external PR agency, including media inquiry response, interview preparation, and coverage tracking, while ensuring sensitive or high-risk matters are escalated appropriately.
- Draft and produce media relations materials, including press releases and partner bios.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for attorneys on assigned PR matters, exercising judgment on messaging, timing, and whether something is ready to move forward.
- Oversee the firm’s media monitoring and reporting process, including tracking daily coverage, surfacing relevant legal and industry news for firm leadership, and contributing to quarterly media reporting and analysis.
Internal Communications & Firmwide Initiatives:
- Take ownership of firmwide communications projects from concept through execution, ensuring they are on message, on schedule, and well-coordinated across stakeholders.
- Draft and distribute internal messaging on strategic priorities and organizational developments, maintaining a consistent voice that reflects the firm’s identity and values.
- Partner with teams across practices and offices to bring structure, clarity, and editorial quality to communications initiatives at every stage of development.
Awards & Recognition:
- Lead the full lifecycle of the firm’s awards and rankings submissions for assigned practices, offices, and initiatives, from identifying the right opportunities to building the narrative to final delivery.
- Work closely with attorneys to gather substantive information and translate it into compelling, well-organized submissions tailored to the requirements of each publication or ranking body.
- Maintain the awards calendar and track all deadlines, statuses, and deliverables across a portfolio of concurrent submissions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in public relations or communications, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked within a law firm or professional services environment.
- A strong editorial eye and command of AP Style, with the ability to produce polished, accurate copy across a range of formats.
- Proficiency with AI tools and technologies is expected. This role requires someone who already integrates AI into their communications workflow and is comfortable using it daily.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to keep multiple workstreams moving forward simultaneously.
Compensation
- The national average salary range for this role is $58,000 - $109,000. Starting salary will be determined based on location, qualifications, and experience.

Target practice groups that rely on specialized expertise
Womble Bond Dickinson's sponsorship activity tends to concentrate in roles requiring niche legal knowledge. Focus your applications on practice areas like corporate, intellectual property, or regulatory law where your specialized background makes a strong case for sponsorship.
Understand that law firm sponsorship moves slowly
Law & Legal Services firms follow deliberate hiring cycles tied to associate class intakes and partner approvals. Expect a longer timeline from application to offer than you'd find in tech or finance, and plan your OPT or visa status accordingly.
Highlight your bar admission status early
Womble Bond Dickinson hires attorneys who can practice in U.S. jurisdictions. Clarify your bar admission status or eligibility upfront. Foreign-trained lawyers who've passed the bar in a U.S. state are far stronger H-1B sponsorship candidates at firms like this.
Research open roles filtered by verified sponsorship history
Not every law firm listing includes sponsorship information. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your search on firms like Womble Bond Dickinson that have an actual track record of supporting visa holders.
Tailor your application to the firm's transatlantic practice
Womble Bond Dickinson operates across the U.S. and U.K., which means international legal backgrounds can be a genuine asset. Frame any cross-border experience or dual-qualified status as directly relevant to the firm's practice, not just as a biographical detail.

Find Womble Bond Dickinson JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Womble Bond Dickinson sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Womble Bond Dickinson sponsors H-1B visas. The firm has filed H-1B petitions for roles requiring specialized legal expertise, consistent with how law firms typically use the visa category for attorneys and other professionals in specialty occupations. Sponsorship decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and depend heavily on the role, practice group, and the candidate's qualifications.
Which visa types does Womble Bond Dickinson sponsor?
Womble Bond Dickinson sponsors H-1B visas and has also supported F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT candidates, along with TN visa holders from Canada and Mexico. This range suggests the firm is open to hiring foreign nationals at various career stages, from law students and recent graduates on OPT to experienced attorneys pursuing H-1B status.
Which roles or departments at Womble Bond Dickinson are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at law firms like Womble Bond Dickinson is most common in attorney-track roles within practice groups that require specialized knowledge, such as corporate, intellectual property, litigation, and regulatory law. Legal professionals who are bar-admitted in a U.S. state are the strongest candidates. Business services or administrative roles are rarely sponsored at this type of firm.
How do I time my application to Womble Bond Dickinson around the H-1B cap?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, apply early enough for the firm to prepare a petition ahead of the April filing window, with an October 1 start date if selected. Many law firms begin planning sponsorships months in advance. If you're on OPT, securing an offer with cap-gap coverage or OPT extension can bridge the gap if you're not selected in the lottery.
How do I find open jobs at Womble Bond Dickinson that include visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to search on Migrate Mate, which aggregates jobs from verified visa sponsors and lets you filter by company name, visa type, and sponsorship history. This saves you from sifting through listings that don't disclose sponsorship eligibility. You can search specifically for Womble Bond Dickinson roles and confirm which positions align with your visa situation before applying.
