Job Roles at Xero Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Xero Visa Sponsorship USA
Target roles that match E-3 specialty occupation requirements
Xero primarily sponsors roles in software engineering, product, and finance technology. Focus your applications on positions requiring a degree in a specific field, these are the roles most likely to support an E-3 petition through Xero's HR process.
Highlight your accounting or fintech domain knowledge
Xero builds tools for small business accounting, so candidates who understand payroll, tax, or financial workflows stand out. Connecting your technical or business background to Xero's core product area strengthens your case significantly during the hiring process.
Understand that Xero sponsors E-3 visas, not H-1B
Xero's U.S. sponsorship track record is specifically for the E-3 visa, which is available exclusively to Australian citizens. If you hold an Australian passport, this is a meaningful advantage, no lottery, no uncertainty about selection.
Apply early and make the E-3 process easy for the hiring team
Smaller sponsorship volumes mean hiring managers may be less familiar with the E-3 timeline. Coming prepared with a clear overview of what the process involves and how straightforward it is can reduce hesitation and keep your application moving.
Look for openings across Xero's U.S. product and engineering hubs
Xero has U.S. presence across multiple cities. Sponsored roles have appeared in both engineering and go-to-market functions. Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified E-3 sponsors and surface active Xero openings alongside their real sponsorship history.
Position yourself as a long-term hire, not a short-term placement
Sponsors with a moderate track record weigh commitment seriously. Emphasize your interest in Xero's mission and long-term career fit in the U.S. market, this signals that the sponsorship investment is worthwhile for both sides.

Does Xero sponsor H-1B visas?
Xero's U.S. visa sponsorship activity is focused on the E-3 visa, not the H-1B. The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and does not require entering an annual lottery, making it a faster and more predictable path. If you hold an Australian passport, Xero's sponsorship history is directly relevant to you.
What types of roles does Xero typically sponsor for visa applicants?
Sponsored positions at Xero have generally fallen within software engineering, product management, and finance technology functions, roles that align with Xero's core cloud accounting platform. These positions typically require a degree in a specific technical or business field, which supports the specialty occupation requirement central to an E-3 application.
How do I know if Xero is actively sponsoring visas right now?
Sponsorship activity can shift year to year depending on hiring cycles and headcount planning. Rather than relying on outdated information, use Migrate Mate to browse current openings from verified E-3 sponsors. Migrate Mate pulls real sponsorship data so you can see which employers are actively hiring and sponsoring, not just which ones sponsored in the past.
How do I approach the application process at Xero as an E-3 candidate?
Apply through Xero's careers page for roles that match your background in engineering, product, or finance technology. Once you receive an offer, your employer initiates the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before you attend a consular interview in Australia. The E-3 process is relatively straightforward compared to other work visas, which makes it easier to discuss with a hiring team that may be less familiar with it.
Is Xero a strong visa sponsor for Australian tech professionals?
Xero has an established track record of E-3 sponsorship in the U.S., making it a credible option for Australian professionals in technology and finance roles. While it sponsors selectively rather than at high volume, its focus on a global workforce and deep ties to the Australian market make it more open to E-3 hiring than many comparable software companies.
