Entry Level Compensation Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level compensation specialist job?
Focus on coursework or certifications in HR, finance, or data analysis, since entry level compensation roles often prioritize analytical skills over years of experience. Internships in HR operations, payroll, or benefits administration give you directly relevant examples to discuss. Familiarity with Excel, HRIS platforms, and job evaluation frameworks helps candidates stand out at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level compensation specialists?
Companies hiring entry level compensation specialists right now include Jobot, Sedgwick, and Garces, Grabler & LeBrocq, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. A wide range of employers hire at this level, from large corporations with structured HR development programs to mid-size organizations building out their total rewards functions.
Are there remote entry level compensation specialist jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and region. About 43% of entry level compensation specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader flexibility in HR roles. Many employers still prefer on-site or hybrid arrangements for junior staff who benefit from closer mentorship and team collaboration early in their careers.
Are these new grad compensation specialist jobs?
Yes, many of these postings are new grad friendly, welcoming recent graduates, junior candidates, and career changers with little or no direct experience. A new grad posting typically notes that internships, relevant coursework, or a portfolio of HR or data projects can substitute for professional experience, making them accessible to candidates entering the field for the first time.
Which industries hire the most entry level compensation specialists?
Entry Level compensation specialist roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Law & Legal Services, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to have large, structured workforces that require dedicated compensation analysis to manage job leveling, pay equity reviews, and market benchmarking at scale.
