Entry Level Financial Accountant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level financial accountant job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for a relevant degree in accounting or finance, familiarity with Excel or basic accounting software, and any hands-on experience from internships, coursework projects, or part-time bookkeeping work. A clean, accurate resume that highlights specific tasks you handled, such as reconciliations or journal entries, gives you a clear edge over candidates who list only coursework.
Which companies hire entry level financial accountants?
Companies hiring entry level financial accountants right now include Jobot, Kohl's, and Rotork, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including corporate finance teams, regional accounting firms, healthcare organizations, and government agencies that regularly bring on junior staff to support their accounting departments.
Are there remote entry level financial accountant jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles are still common at the entry level. About 50% of entry level financial accountant openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, so candidates who need location flexibility do have real options. Hybrid arrangements are especially common at larger organizations that want new staff on-site for onboarding and training before allowing a flexible schedule.
Are these new grad financial accountant jobs?
Yes. These listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior financial accountant roles alongside other entry level openings. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-ops toward the requirement, or accepts a strong academic record in place of professional history. Look for language like "recent graduates encouraged to apply" or "training provided" as clear signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level financial accountants?
Entry Level financial accountant roles concentrate in Insurance, Technology & Software, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they maintain large, ongoing accounting functions, such as accounts payable, general ledger support, and financial reporting, that need junior staff to keep operations running efficiently.
