DESCRIPTION
We are the guardians of the Amazon galaxy. The Account Compliance team strives to ensure that Amazon remains compliant and the cost of being compliant is never the reason where the business or our sellers cannot scale. Our diverse team innovates on behalf of their customers to build a trusted marketplace through best-in-class compliance products. With hundreds of millions of customers around the world depending on our products & services, our systems form the tip of the spear against bad actors. These actors might abuse Amazon products and undermine customer faith, so our success comes from identifying & removing them while delivering best-in-class customer experiences for the good actors and strategic customers. We’re creating the most trusted store on earth, enabling Amazon to innovate at scale, and supporting our customers to launch & grow their business faster than anywhere else in the world.
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer in the account compliance team, you will design and build software that 1) is extensible to different use cases, products, and geographies with almost zero incremental tech effort, 2) can trigger verifications that are necessary under applicable policies, 3) can store verification decisions for re-use to reduce duplicative checks; and (5) is vendible to any authorized user via API. The software is smarter than the smartest bad actors in the world to protect the store from illegal activities at scale. Amazon's scale means that you'll be designing and developing custom distributed systems more advanced than those used in standard industry practices. These data-centric systems need to detect patterns across Amazon's huge customer population as they happen and be adaptive so that they can detect new modus operandi as they develop. Lastly, they need to be highly available, low latency, high quality systems. If this sounds interesting to you, then apply and find out more!

Compliance Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a compliance job in Seattle?
The strongest path into Seattle compliance work is targeting the city's dominant sectors: financial services firms clustered downtown, health systems anchored in First Hill and the University District, and tech companies concentrated in South Lake Union and Bellevue. Candidates who combine a relevant degree with hands-on experience in regulatory frameworks common to those industries, such as FINRA, HIPAA, or SOC 2, stand out in Seattle's competitive hiring pool.
Which companies hire compliances in Seattle?
Companies currently hiring compliances in Seattle include Amazon, Allied Residential, and University Of Washington, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Seattle's mix of global financial institutions, major health networks, and publicly traded tech firms means compliance roles appear across a wide range of employer sizes and regulatory environments.
Are there remote compliance jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the type of compliance work: analytical and policy-focused roles are far more remote-friendly than positions requiring on-site audits or regulated-environment access. About 69% of compliance openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader flexibility across desk-based functions. Risk monitoring, compliance analyst, and regulatory reporting roles show the highest remote availability among Seattle postings.
How can I get a compliance job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is targeting compliance coordinator or compliance analyst associate roles at mid-size financial services firms and health systems, which routinely hire candidates transitioning from adjacent roles in operations, audit support, or legal administration. Seattle-area community banks, regional insurance carriers, and growing fintech companies in the SLU corridor are known to hire early-career candidates who can demonstrate attention to detail and familiarity with regulatory documentation basics.
