Job Summary

Join a dynamic and expanding general contracting firm as a Construction Estimator, where your expertise will directly impact the success of diverse commercial and residential construction projects. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and suppliers to ensure projects are financially viable and competitively priced. Your proactive approach and keen eye for detail will help drive project success from initial bid and proposal to final cost management, supporting our mission to deliver high-quality construction solutions efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs.
• Develop detailed project estimates using estimating software such as blue beam proest, procore or similar tools, ensuring all aspects of the project are accounted for.
• Conduct thorough cost analysis including material costs, subcontractor bids, and labor rates to prepare comprehensive bids.
• Manage and update project budgets throughout the bidding process and construction phases, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial targets.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors through negotiation to secure favorable pricing and contract terms while maintaining strong professional relationships.
• Utilize construction management software like Bluebeam, procore or equivalent to review plans, annotate drawings, and streamline estimating workflows.
• Assist in reviewing construction contracts, managing change orders, and ensuring accurate documentation for all estimating activities.
• Support project management teams by providing detailed cost breakdowns, risk assessments, and estimation reports to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Stay current with industry trends, material pricing fluctuations, and new estimating techniques to continuously improve accuracy and efficiency in bidding processes.
• Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings when required.
• Develop comprehensive project budgets and proposals.

Experience

• Proven experience as a construction estimator within the commercial/residential construction industry, demonstrating successful management of project estimates from start to finish.
• Strong proficiency in estimating software such as or similar platforms; familiarity with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and estimating material quantities from blueprints.
• Solid understanding of construction management software tools including Bluebeam, Xactimate or equivalent programs.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and subcontractors while maintaining professional relationships.
• Experience managing project budgets, controlling costs, and performing detailed cost analysis for large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, and construction site experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and presenting estimation findings clearly.

Preferred Expertise

• Experience estimating custom homes, additions, renovations, and tenant improvements.
• Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes.
• Degree or certification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• bilingual English & Spanish is a plus

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Buildertrend, Procore, proest, Sage Estimating, or similar.
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license.
• 5+ years of estimating experience in residential and commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction
