Construction Manager Jobs in Phoenix: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction manager job in Phoenix?
Focus your search on Phoenix's busiest hiring sectors: commercial real estate development along the Downtown and Camelback corridors, public infrastructure projects tied to city and county contracts, and the large-scale residential builders active in the West Valley and Chandler. Candidates who can demonstrate experience managing subcontractors on fast-track schedules and who know local permitting processes through the City of Phoenix Development Services Department stand out in this market.
Which companies hire construction managers in Phoenix?
Employers hiring construction managers in Phoenix right now include Turner & Townsend Pty Limited, Burns & McDonnell, and Arizona Public Service (APS), based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Phoenix's hiring mix runs from large national general contractors with regional offices Downtown to local homebuilders, specialty subcontractors, and public agencies managing light-rail and highway expansion projects.
Are there remote construction manager jobs in Phoenix?
Yes, but remote work is rare for this role since most construction manager positions require on-site presence to oversee crews, inspections, and subcontractors. About 27% of construction manager openings tied to Phoenix are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be preconstruction, estimating, or program-management roles with Phoenix-based developers or owner-representative firms rather than field superintendent positions.
How can I get a construction manager job in Phoenix with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Phoenix is a project engineer or assistant superintendent role with one of the active homebuilders or general contractors in the West Valley, where high build volume creates consistent entry-level openings. Internships through Arizona State University's Del E. Webb School of Construction, based in Tempe, give candidates a direct line to local employer networks. Starting in field coordination or scheduling support for a Phoenix subcontractor is another concrete way in.
Which industries hire the most construction managers in Phoenix?
The sectors hiring the most construction managers in Phoenix are Consulting & Professional Services, Construction & Real Estate, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Phoenix's sustained population growth, ongoing light-rail expansion, and a pipeline of commercial and mixed-use developments Downtown and along the Loop 202 corridor keep demand across these sectors consistently high.
