Construction Project Manager

Role Overview

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing commercial construction projects from award through final completion. This position oversees project planning, scheduling, budgeting, coordination, documentation, and field execution to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, on time, and within budget.

The Construction Project Manager serves as a primary point of contact between customers, general contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, field personnel, and internal departments. This role works closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Field Superintendents, and Foremen to ensure materials, information, equipment, and manpower are properly coordinated for each project.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional who can read and interpret plans and specifications, anticipate field challenges, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and develop practical solutions when conditions change.

Experience with commercial construction, structural steel, aluminum structures, canopies, awnings, shelters, or related installation work is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from award through completion and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, milestones, and overall project plans.
• Review contracts, scopes of work, construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Coordinate project activities with customers, general contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, and internal departments.
• Work closely with Sales PM and Field Superintendent to coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, deliveries, site access, and installation schedules.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Installation to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
• Monitor project costs, labor, materials, equipment expenses, and overall project profitability.
• Assist with project estimating, take-offs, pricing, and scope review as needed.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, field dimensions, and other construction documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify conflicts between plans, specifications, materials, and actual field conditions and coordinate appropriate solutions.
• Prepare, submit, negotiate, track, and follow through on change orders and additional work requests.
• Track long-lead materials and coordinate procurement and delivery requirements.
• Conduct and participate in project kickoff, coordination, production, and construction meetings.
• Communicate project status, schedule changes, delays, field issues, and potential cost impacts to customers and Company leadership.
• Visit active job sites as necessary to review project progress, field conditions, quality, safety, and installation requirements.
• Coordinate with field leadership to address installation challenges and resolve issues that could impact the project schedule or cost.
• Maintain accurate and complete project documentation, correspondence, reports, and records.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with contract requirements, approved drawings, Company quality standards, and applicable safety requirements.
• Support compliance with Company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and job-site safety expectations.
• Maintain strong professional relationships with customers and contractors throughout the project.
• Coordinate project closeout, including outstanding work, documentation, punch-list items, and final completion requirements.
• Maintain accountability for assigned projects from initial turnover through final completion.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on business and operational needs.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Construction Project Management experience preferred.
• Experience in commercial construction, structural steel, aluminum fabrication/installation, metal construction, or a related trade strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and job-site operations.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of work.
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Experience coordinating vendors, field crews, and general contractors.
• Knowledge of construction estimating and material take-offs preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction safety requirements and OSHA standards.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
• Ability to successfully complete Company-required pre-employment screening.
• Professional working proficiency in English required.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
