Construction Project Lead Jobs

Doctor Fix-It Restoration & Reconstruction is looking for an experienced Restoration Project Manager to lead reconstruction projects from start to finish.

This is not an entry-level position, and it’s not a typical 9-to-5 job. If you’re looking for a job where someone reminds you to do your paperwork, follows behind you fixing mistakes, or tells you what to do every hour of the day, this won’t be the right fit.

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, leads by example, solves problems, builds relationships, and gets things done.

Position Overview

As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for selling work, developing scopes of work, managing crews and subcontractors, maintaining customer relationships, networking for new opportunities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, profitably, and to the highest standards.

This is primarily a management and leadership role. You will not be swinging a hammer every day. However, when emergencies happen and staffing is short, everyone—including management—steps up to help.

You must have construction industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Sell reconstruction projects.
• Scope rebuild jobs.
• Develop detailed scopes of work and coordinate with the estimator to ensure accurate estimating and smooth job handoffs.
• Manage reconstruction projects from start to finish.
• Lead and supervise reconstruction subcontractors.
• Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and schedules.
• Conduct job site visits and quality control inspections (Every 2 Days).
• Ensure all work is completed according to applicable building codes.
• Maintain communication with homeowners, insurance adjusters, property managers, and commercial clients.
• Attend networking events, BNI meetings, coffee meetings, and other relationship-building opportunities to generate business.
• Build and maintain referral partner relationships.
• Maintain project schedules and profitability.
• Handle emergency response situations and changing priorities.
• Participate in the manager on-call rotation, approximately every three weeks.
• Assist in the field during staffing shortages or emergency situations.
• Ensure crews complete proper documentation, photos, notes, and paperwork.
• Submit mitigation paperwork for billing within 24 hours of project completion.
• Hold crews and subcontractors accountable for quality, professionalism, and productivity.
• Address problems immediately instead of allowing issues to grow.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to team members.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of construction industry experience.
• Experience managing reconstruction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes.
• Thorough understanding of local building codes.
• Ability to accurately scope reconstruction projects and communicate those scopes effectively to the estimating team.
• Proven leadership experience managing crews and subcontractors.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.

The Reality of the Job

This industry isn’t glamorous.

There are emergency calls, upset customers, insurance issues, staffing challenges, tight deadlines, and long days. Sometimes you’ll leave early. Sometimes you’ll work late. Sometimes your phone rings when you’re on call.

It’s demanding work, but it’s rewarding work.

If you’re the type of person who thrives under pressure, enjoys leading people, solving problems, building relationships, and taking ownership of your responsibilities, this can be an extremely rewarding career.

If you need someone constantly checking behind you, reminding you to do the basics, or motivating you to care about the outcome, this isn’t the job for you.

Pay: $63,762.89 - $76,789.71 per year
