Construction Project Lead Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction project lead job in Jacksonville?
Focus your search on Jacksonville's commercial general contractors, civil infrastructure firms working the Northside logistics corridors, and the multifamily developers active on the Southside and St. Johns Town Center area. Candidates with hands-on field experience in ground-up commercial or large residential projects stand out here. A demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors, run schedules, and keep jobs on budget carries more weight with Jacksonville employers than credentials alone.
Which companies hire construction project leads in Jacksonville?
Companies currently hiring construction project leads in Jacksonville include NVR, RQ Construction, and The Haskell Company, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's hiring mix skews toward regional general contractors, civil engineering firms tied to port and infrastructure work, and national developers with active Florida divisions.
Are there remote construction project lead jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, but rarely for fully hands-on roles since construction project leads typically oversee on-site work directly. About 0% of construction project lead openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, mostly for roles with heavier planning, estimating, and owner-relations responsibilities. Preconstruction and program management positions in Jacksonville are the most likely to offer schedule flexibility.
How can I get a construction project lead job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is starting as a field engineer or assistant superintendent with a regional general contractor or a civil firm working city infrastructure and JEA utility projects. Jacksonville's strong multifamily pipeline also creates openings for project engineers who can move into lead roles within one to two years. Getting OSHA-30 certified before applying and showing familiarity with Procore or similar project management software gives entry-level candidates a concrete advantage locally.
Which industries hire the most construction project leads in Jacksonville?
Most construction project lead openings in Jacksonville sit in Manufacturing, Staffing & Recruiting, and Healthcare & Medical Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's position as a logistics hub, its active port expansion, and sustained residential and mixed-use development along the I-95 and I-295 corridors keep demand for project leads steady across those sectors.
