Job Overview
We're looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented person ready to start a career in construction. As our Project Manager Assistant (Junior Project Manager / Project Management Intern), you'll support our Senior Project Managers and act as our "eyes and ears" on-site at residential remodeling projects.
We care more about the right personality — someone with excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, sharp attention to detail, and pride in their work — than we do about prior construction experience. This role is a hands-on introduction to residential construction and remodeling, with real room to grow.
Responsibilities
- Visit jobsites to meet with county inspectors, subcontractors, crews, and homeowners — assisting communication and documenting site conditions for the project management team
- Deliver materials to jobsites and help organize and catalog materials on-site
- Help build and maintain detailed project schedules in BuilderTrend, keeping all phases on track
- Document site conditions and completed work through photos, checklists, daily logs, and summaries for the team
- Review construction plans, drawings, and specifications with project managers to confirm clarity and accuracy before work begins
- Track project milestones, update schedules, and report progress to stakeholders using construction management software
- Support contract administration — reviewing change orders, RFIs, and submittals to keep projects moving smoothly
What We're Looking For
- Communication and people skills come first. The right attitude and work ethic matter more than experience — everything else can be taught.
- Some foundation of construction knowledge helpful (basic vocabulary, tool familiarity, general "handiness")
- Comfort with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn construction scheduling software
- Clean driving record (must meet insurance requirements to drive a company vehicle)
- Interest in learning construction plans, specifications, contracts, and project documentation
- Strong organizational skills and time management, especially under tight deadlines
- Comfort coordinating with contractors, suppliers, clients, and internal teams
