Maintenance Supervisor Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a maintenance supervisor in Florida?
Most Florida maintenance supervisor roles require several years of hands-on technician experience followed by a move into a lead or assistant supervisor position. Florida does not issue a single state license specifically for maintenance supervisors, but employers in HVAC-heavy roles expect an EPA 608 certification, which is federally issued. For facilities work, familiarity with Florida Building Code and the Florida Fire Prevention Code is expected. Many candidates advance through property management companies or healthcare systems that promote from within their maintenance technician ranks.
Which companies hire maintenance supervisors in Florida?
Employers hiring maintenance supervisors in Florida right now include Greystar, RangeWater Residential, and FirstService Residential, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of large resort properties, multifamily housing communities, and regional hospital networks makes it one of the more active states for sustained maintenance supervisor hiring year-round.
Which Florida cities have the most maintenance supervisor jobs?
Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa have the most maintenance supervisor openings in Florida. Miami's density of luxury multifamily properties and hospitality operations drives demand there, while Orlando's resort and theme park industry anchors that market, and Tampa's mix of healthcare campuses, manufacturing facilities, and growing residential communities sustains consistent hiring across all three.
Are there remote maintenance supervisor jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Maintenance supervision is fundamentally a hands-on, on-site role involving physical inspections, team oversight, and direct equipment management. About 3% of maintenance supervisor openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to involve administrative or program management responsibilities rather than direct facility oversight.
How can I get hired as a maintenance supervisor in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a maintenance technician at a large Florida property management company or healthcare system and moving into a lead technician role within one to two years. Greystar, Camden Property Trust, and major hospital networks like AdventHealth and HCA Florida regularly hire entry-level maintenance technicians with no supervisory background. Earning an EPA 608 certification and a Florida-recognized HVAC credential while working as a technician signals readiness for supervisory consideration and separates candidates from others at the same experience level.
Where can I find and apply to maintenance supervisor jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to maintenance supervisor jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings. Search the available roles, identify the ones that fit your experience and location, and apply directly to the ones that match.
