Job Overview
The Production Lead will support our client NextEra Energy’s team by coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day production of cable rehabilitation projects. This position serves as a key point of coordination between engineering, design, permitting, field operations, contractors, and project management to ensure assigned work is completed accurately, efficiently, and within established schedules and quality requirements.
The Production Lead will monitor project workload, assign and prioritize tasks, track production, identify potential issues, and provide guidance to team members to maintain workflow and meet project deliverables. The role requires strong knowledge of utility distribution systems, underground electrical infrastructure, cable rehabilitation processes, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Duties:
- Lead and coordinate daily production activities for the Cable Rehabilitation Team.
- Review incoming work and establish priorities based on project requirements, deadlines, field conditions, and customer or utility needs.
- Assign work to designers, engineers, permitting personnel, and other project resources as appropriate.
- Monitor project and production schedules to ensure work progress according to established timelines.
- Track individual and team production, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Review work products for completeness, accuracy, constructability, and compliance with applicable utility standards.
- Support quality-control initiatives and perform periodic audits of completed work.
- Coordinate with engineering, design, permitting, construction, field personnel, contractors, and utility representatives.
- Support the development and maintenance of cable rehabilitation designs, work packages, construction documents, and project deliverables.
- Review existing facility information, field data, maps, drawings, and utility records to identify potential conflicts or design concerns.
- Identify projects requiring additional field investigation, engineering review, permitting, or utility coordination.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate project requirements, risks, schedule concerns, and action items.
- Ability to perform field work in varying weather conditions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience electric utility distribution, engineering, construction, cable rehabilitation, or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, control logic, and equipment O&M manuals.
- Comfortable working with computers and standard software applications, including MS Excel, Access, Word, Project, and other specialized software.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining composure.
- In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of consumer-owned utility relationships and standards, as required by applicable state and federal agencies.
- Strong communication skills when working with members and the public.
- Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communication.
- Ability to perform fieldwork in a variety of weather conditions.
Pay: $47.00 - $52.00 per hour
