SUMMARY
Provide audio-visual support for events across The Corning Museum of Glass (Museum), ensuring all AV needs are delivered, maintained, and functioning effectively. Work under the direction of the Events Production and Program Manager (EPPM) to assist with inventory management of AV equipment, including backup supplies. Act as the primary daily point of contact for temporary production technicians.
Responsibilities
Technical Production Support
- Provide full technical support for events, including setup, operation, troubleshooting, and teardown of audio-visual, lighting, and staging systems
- Maintain all event space systems (audio, lighting, projection, screens, and staging equipment), ensuring functionality and addressing repair or upgrade needs
- Assist with inventory control and coordinate equipment logistics, including external vendor rentals and staging requirements
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with upgrades of technical equipment and systems
- Contribute to development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and training documentation
Event Execution & Client Support
- Collaborate with event planners, internal teams, and clients to support event execution, technical requirements, and overall event flow
- Assist event clients with preparation and execution of presentation materials
- Respond to client and team inquiries in a professional, timely, and solution-oriented manner before, during, and after events
Audio / Video / Lighting Operations
- Deliver high-quality audio, video, and lighting execution, including live mixing and system operation
- Troubleshoot technical issues across audio, video, and lighting systems during events
- Demonstrate working knowledge of audio systems (including Dante), video signal flow, and lighting control systems (including DMX and grandMA)
Stage and Production Support
- Support stage production needs including rigging, truss work, soft goods, and stage decking setup and strike
- Coordinate with internal and external crews to ensure smooth execution of production elements
- Operate production intercom systems and support overall backstage communication
Team Coordination
- Serve as day-to-day point of contact for temporary production technicians, providing coordination, guidance, and support

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in audio-visual technology or a related field preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience supporting live events, with strong expertise in audio-visual and lighting systems
- Hands-on experience setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of audio-visual equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based platforms (Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams) and ability to quickly learn new software
- Strong communication skills with experience providing clear updates on projects, repairs, and support activities
- Experience creating training materials and delivering end-user training

The work environment is regularly indoors and climate controlled. The work environment is frequently working near moving mechanical parts and high precarious places. The work environment is occasionally indoors not climate controlled, odors, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions (events), extreme heat (filming hot glass shows). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but occasionally in louder environments due to concerts, performances and various events (never for more than 3 hours).
