Scope of Role

This role is key member of our production team responsible for leading production employees to ensure an optimal balance of safety, quality, service, and efficiency in order to achieve operational excellence. This position will start out as a lead with the possibility of becoming a supervisor in the future.

Hours of Work

• Monday – Friday
• 6:00am - 3:30pm
• May be required to work mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays, up to 55 hours per week, due to fluctuating production needs. The company provides as much advanced notice as possible when this occurs. Employees may consent to work up to 60 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensuring all safety and quality standards and procedures are maintained.
• Supervising production team members regarding all aspects of production activities including prioritizing duties, delegating work assignments, and scheduling employees, to optimize production and sanitation functions.
• Participating in cross-functional teams to build a culture of operational excellence and innovation in the areas of processing, methods, productivity, Good Manufacturing Practices, safety, and quality.
• Overseeing training efforts in the processes and methods required to achieve company standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
• Evaluating processes and methods to make appropriate recommendations to continuously improve methods, equipment performance, utilization of people, quality of product, and safety objectives.
• Acting as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems regarding production and work problems.
• Maintaining and controlling departmental supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Ensuring the completion of all required production paperwork.
• Being actively involved in safety efforts including incident investigations, assisting in root cause analysis, and auditing.
• Follow all safety policies for personal safety of self and team members. May require personal protective equipment based on work assigned (gloves, goggles or face shield, rubber boots, rain gear, etc.).
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices for the quality and safety of food products, including wearing a smock and hairnet in production areas. Requires removal of jewelry and cosmetic accessories (false eyelashes, artificial nails, etc.).

Physical Demands

• Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift.
• Regularly use hands and arms to reach, handle, and operate equipment and tools.
• Frequently communicate with team members and hear verbal instructions and alarms.
• Occasionally sit, climb, balance, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift and move items up to 10 lbs.
• Frequently lift and move items up to 25 lbs.
• Occasionally lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
• Must have the ability to see clearly at close and long distances, maintain peripheral vision and depth perception, and adjust focus as needed to safely perform job duties.

Working Conditions

• Working around packaging equipment with moving mechanical parts.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior leadership experience preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish is preferred)

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
