What You’ll Do
- Lead the development of high-quality, scientifically rigorous content across a high volume of deliverables, including complex projects, brands, and/or therapeutic areas, working independently with minimal input needed from senior-level reviewers
- Provide strategic input to clients and internal teams on scientific messaging, differentiation with competitors, impactful data inclusion and interpretation, and educational needs
- Challenge and refine project briefs, as appropriate, to ensure that deliverables are tactically relevant, strategically sound, and scientifically robust
- Guide less-experienced medical writers on content structure, data interpretation, referencing, and alignment with strategic imperatives, informally supporting their development
- Harness strong interpersonal skills to develop and strengthen key relationships with clients and key opinion leaders across multiple therapeutic areas
- Leverage experience on assigned accounts/therapeutic areas to make proactive recommendations to clients regarding content enhancements or new deliverables or approaches that support organic growth
- Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of scientific accuracy, consistency, and compliance with client guidelines and industry regulations
- Perform any other duties as reasonably assigned—duties and responsibilities may relate to business development, departmental or agency-wide initiatives, and more
This Position Is a Perfect Fit For You If
- Our company values—Best Together, Impact-Obsessed, Excellence Expected, Evolve Always, and Accountability with an “I”—really speak to you
- You thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and can adapt to shifting priorities with resilience and resourcefulness
- You are a strategic thinker with a passion for diving deep into scientific data and distilling actionable insights in a compelling and compliant manner
- You are a natural leader and team player, with a positive, solutions-oriented, and client-focused approach to challenges
What You Should Have
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare communications within an agency, with a demonstrated track record of developing high-quality deliverables
- Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline (PhD, MD, or PharmD preferred)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive scientific narratives tailored to diverse audiences, including primary care physicians and specialists
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across diverse accounts, maintaining high-quality standards under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat as well as familiarity with online proofing platforms (eg, Workfront Proof, Ziflow) and Veeva Vault
- Proficiency with AI tools and resources to facilitate research and develop content in an efficient and responsible manner

At Real Chemistry, we believe we're at our best when we're connected. Our Real Hybrid and Regional Teams (Real HART) approach is designed to foster collaboration, learning, innovation, and meaningful relationships while providing flexibility where appropriate. Because our workforce spans multiple countries, regions, and client needs, work arrangements may vary by role and location. Some positions offer hybrid or remote flexibility, while others require regular in-office presence. Your recruiter will discuss the specific expectations for the role you're pursuing during the interview process and keep you informed throughout the hiring journey. For employees located within a one-hour commute of a Real Chemistry office, we require in-person attendance two days per week, either from a Real Chemistry office or when working onsite with clients. While these guidelines reflect our current workplace model, we understand that everyone’s circumstances are unique. If you require additional flexibility, we welcome an open conversation with your recruiter and our HR team to discuss your needs and determine what may be possible.

Mid Level Content Lead Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level content lead job?
Position your existing experience around ownership and impact rather than task execution. Highlight content programs you led, editorial decisions you drove, and measurable outcomes you delivered, such as audience growth or content efficiency gains. Tailor your portfolio to show strategic thinking alongside execution, and make clear in your application that you can operate with limited oversight and bring others along with you.
Which companies hire mid level content leads?
Companies hiring mid level content leads right now include Stripe, TikTok, and Real Chemistry, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level covers a wide range of employers, from growing startups building out their content function for the first time to established organizations expanding dedicated editorial teams.
Are there remote mid level content lead jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are widely available at this experience level. About 60% of mid level content lead openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly content roles have shifted away from required on-site presence. Filtering by work setting when you search makes it easy to surface the arrangement that fits your situation.
How do I move up to a mid level content lead role?
The move from entry level to mid level content lead comes from accumulating ownership over time. In your first two to three years, focus on going deeper than execution: take initiative on full content projects, document the results you drove, and develop a point of view on strategy. Consistently stepping up to guide peers, owning a content channel, or leading a campaign from brief to analysis signals readiness for a mid level title.
Which industries hire the most mid level content leads?
Mid Level content lead roles concentrate in Banking & Financial Services, Marketing & Advertising, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because they maintain large, ongoing content operations that require experienced leads who can own programs and shape editorial direction without needing day-to-day supervision.
