Remote or Houston based · Reports to VP, Operations
As a consultant, the expectation for this position is 40 hours per week, full-time hours commitment, with access to benefits. We're growing the team supporting an exciting brand’s content studio — a set of small, agile creative pods that own work end-to-end, from executive and internal communications to social, digital and editorial content. The role can be based remotely or onsite at the client's in-house studio.
Overview
The Content Team Lead owns creative and editorial quality across the pod's full content team — a total creative team of 12. This role leads three direct reports — a Senior Social Content Creator, a Senior Content Creator (Editorial) and a Senior Content Editor — and, through them, the broader team of Social Content Creators, Content Creators and Content Editors producing the pod's day-to-day content. This is a senior leadership role responsible for setting creative standards, developing talent, and making sure the team's collective output — social, video and written content alike — is consistently on-brand, high quality and delivered on time. Rather than reviewing every piece of content personally, the Content Team Lead leads through the three senior leads, coaching them to raise the bar within their own teams.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Lead and develop a total creative team of 12, directly managing a Senior Social Content Creator, a Senior Content Creator (Editorial) and a Senior Content Editor, and setting the creative and editorial standard the wider team works to
- Coach and develop the three senior leads, helping them grow their own team-leadership, mentorship and quality-review skills
- Set creative direction and best practices for the pod, keeping the team aligned as platforms, formats and client priorities evolve
- Spot-check and calibrate quality across the team's social, video and written content to ensure consistency in tone, brand voice and creative standard
- Serve as the senior point of escalation for creative and editorial decisions across the team
- Partner with the VP of Operations on staffing, capacity and team structure as the creative team scales
- Partner with Integrated Producers to ensure creative capacity is aligned with incoming briefs and production timelines
- Represent the creative team's capacity, quality and output to the VP of Operations
- Identify opportunities to develop talent, streamline creative workflows and raise the bar across the team.
WHAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED
- 6–9+ years of experience across social content, editorial content or creative production, with senior or lead experience in an agency or in-house creative environment
- Experience managing or developing other team leads or managers, not only individual contributors — this role leads leaders
- Strong personal track record spanning both social/video content and long-form or editorial writing
- Demonstrated ability to lead a larger, multi-disciplinary creative team (10+ people across direct and indirect reports)
- Excellent creative judgment and the ability to set and enforce a consistent brand voice across formats and channels
- Strong organizational and people-leadership skills, comfortable coaching senior individual leads rather than only junior staff
- Comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders, including the VP of Operations and client comms/compliance partners
- Collaborative and calm under pressure, with the confidence to drive accountability across a full creative team.

Senior Level Content Lead Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level content lead job?
Employers hiring at this level expect candidates who have owned content programs end to end, not just contributed to them. A strong portfolio demonstrating measurable outcomes, experience managing or mentoring content teams, and the ability to align editorial strategy with business goals will set you apart. Cross-functional leadership experience and comfort with performance data are increasingly table stakes at this stage.
Which companies hire senior level content leads?
Companies hiring senior level content leads right now include Bloomberg, Genentech, and Quantum Space, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from organizations with established content functions that need experienced leaders to scale them, including mid-size growth companies and large enterprises with complex editorial needs.
Are there remote senior level content lead jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are common at this level. About 67% of senior level content lead openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how many companies treat senior content leadership as a role that travels well outside a traditional office. On-site roles do exist, particularly at companies emphasizing tight collaboration between content and product teams.
What makes a content lead role senior level?
Senior level content lead roles are defined by ownership and scope. Where a mid-level content lead executes within a defined strategy, a senior content lead sets that strategy, makes resourcing decisions, and is accountable for outcomes across entire programs or channels. These roles also carry meaningful mentoring responsibilities, with the expectation that you develop the skill and judgment of the people around you.
Which industries hire the most senior level content leads?
Senior level content lead roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Medical Devices, and Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. These sectors tend to invest heavily in content because they operate in competitive, information-driven markets where editorial quality and strategic positioning directly affect audience growth, lead generation, or customer retention.
