The expected base salary range for this position is $65,700 to $102,000. This salary range may vary based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, and geographic location.
JOB SUMMARY: The Content Manager is responsible for developing and executing high-quality thought leadership and marketing content that supports WCG’s brand, commercial objectives, and industry presence. This hands-on role focuses on content production, editorial excellence, and strategic storytelling, translating complex topics into clear, compelling narratives for target audiences across the clinical research ecosystem.
This position researches, writes, edits, and produces a range of content while collaborating closely with Marketing, Communications, Product, and subject matter experts. The role also contributes to content strategy through idea generation and performance-informed recommendations, demonstrating initiative and sound judgment in moving work forward efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The accountabilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
- Content Development & Production
- Write, edit, and produce a wide range of content including articles, white papers, blogs, reports, presentations, multimedia, and scripts.
- Apply SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) best practices in content development.
- Interview subject matter experts and executives to gather insights and translate them into compelling narratives.
- Ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all content.
- Manage multiple content projects simultaneously to meet deadlines and business priorities.
- Adapt and repurpose content into multi-channel formats (blogs, email, social, video, webinar assets) to support campaign activation.

Support the end-to-end content lifecycle from concept through publication, promotion, and post-launch optimization.

Editorial & Content Operations
- Support development and execution of the editorial calendar in alignment with broader content priorities.
- Review and refine content to ensure it meets WCG standards for quality, voice, and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align content with marketing initiatives and campaigns.

Support execution of structured content frameworks (e.g., hub-and-spoke models) to drive consistency, discoverability, and strategic alignment.

Thought Leadership Support & Research
- Conduct research, interviews, and analysis to inform content development.
- Contribute content ideas informed by SEO and AEO insights, competitor analysis, and emerging industry trends.

Support development of research-driven content such as surveys, reports, and benchmarking initiatives.

Executive & Subject Matter Expert (SME) Engagement
- Partner with subject matter experts to develop insights and surface compelling perspectives.
- Draft and refine content that reflects executive voice and thought leadership positioning.

Prepare supporting materials such as talking points, presentations, and scripts.

Events & Content Activation
- Develop abstracts, scripts, and supporting content for webinars and industry events.
- Support and moderate webinars, panels, or discussion forums, as needed.

Support alignment of event participation and speaking opportunities with thought leadership content and campaign priorities.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner closely with Marketing, Communications, Demand Generation, and Product teams to ensure alignment and support promotion across channels.
- Provide input on content strategy, editorial direction, and content effectiveness.
- Incorporate feedback and performance data to continuously improve content quality and impact.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree required.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in content development, journalism, marketing, or related field.
- Life sciences or scientific regulatory experience preferred.
- Multimedia content development experience a plus.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills across multiple formats.
- Strong interviewing skills with the ability to engage and extract insights from subject matter experts and executives.
- Ability to translate complex topics into clear, accessible, and compelling narratives.
- Experience with SEO/AEO and content optimization best practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically about content effectiveness and contribute ideas to improve outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and move work forward independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
- Strong editorial judgment with the ability to balance speed, quality, and business impact.
