National Account Manager Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a national account manager in North Carolina?
Most national account manager roles in North Carolina require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, combined with several years of B2B sales or account management experience. North Carolina does not issue a state license specific to this role, so candidates build their path through direct sales experience, relevant industry certifications such as the Certified Strategic Account Management Professional (CSAP), and a record of managing complex client portfolios in sectors like technology, healthcare, or manufacturing.
How much do national account managers make in North Carolina?
National account managers in North Carolina earn a median of about $70,990 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $38,200 for the lowest 10% to over $144,310 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire national account managers in North Carolina?
Employers hiring national account managers in North Carolina right now include Olly Olly, Travelers, and Miner, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. North Carolina's concentration of headquarters in banking, technology, and consumer goods means national account roles here often involve managing enterprise or retail clients at scale.
Which North Carolina cities have the most national account manager jobs?
Charlotte, North Carolina, and Huntersville have the most national account manager openings in North Carolina. Charlotte dominates as the state's financial and corporate hub, anchored by major headquarters in banking and manufacturing, while Raleigh-Durham draws openings from the Research Triangle's dense cluster of technology, biotech, and healthcare employers, and Greensboro contributes through its logistics, distribution, and consumer goods companies.
Are there remote national account manager jobs in North Carolina?
Yes, and more than many comparable roles, since national account management is largely relationship-driven and communication-based rather than tied to a physical worksite. About 75% of national account manager openings tied to North Carolina are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely companies have adapted this role to distributed work. Strategic planning, pipeline management, and internal reporting functions are the aspects most often performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a national account manager in North Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales or account executive role at a North Carolina company, where you can build direct client management experience before stepping into a national account remit. Charlotte-area financial firms, Raleigh-Durham technology companies, and larger consumer goods employers in Greensboro regularly hire sales development representatives and junior account managers as stepping stones. Earning a certification such as the Certified Professional Sales Person (CPSP) and building a portfolio of quantifiable outcomes from smaller accounts strengthens candidacy significantly.
Where can I find and apply to national account manager jobs in North Carolina?
