National Account Manager Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a national account manager in Pennsylvania?
Most national account manager roles in Pennsylvania require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a closely related field. Pennsylvania does not issue a state license specifically for this role, so hiring decisions focus on progressive sales or account management experience, industry knowledge relevant to the employer's sector, and a demonstrated ability to manage large clients. Candidates in industries like insurance or financial services may also need a Pennsylvania-issued producer or securities registration depending on what they are selling.
How much do national account managers make in Pennsylvania?
National account managers in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $66,130 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $38,980 for the lowest 10% to over $132,420 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire national account managers in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring national account managers in Pennsylvania right now include Georgia-Pacific, FXI, and MetLife, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of healthcare systems, logistics companies, and large insurers headquartered in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh metro areas makes it one of the more active states for this role.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most national account manager jobs?
Philadelphia, King, and Radnor account for the largest share of national account manager openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia dominates because of its dense cluster of Fortune 500 headquarters, regional insurers, and pharmaceutical companies, while Pittsburgh's strength in healthcare technology and financial services drives demand there, and the Lehigh Valley's large distribution and manufacturing base consistently produces openings in logistics and CPG account management.
Are there remote national account manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields, since national account management is fundamentally a relationship and communication role that does not require a fixed physical workplace. About 63% of national account manager openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have accepted distributed account teams. Client-facing responsibilities like onboarding, contract renewals, and executive reviews are the parts most commonly handled remotely or through periodic travel rather than daily office presence.
How can I get hired as a national account manager in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales, territory sales representative, or account coordinator role at a Pennsylvania-based employer, then advancing internally once you have demonstrated client retention results. Large Philadelphia-area companies like Comcast and Aramark run structured sales development and rotational programs that move high performers into national account tracks. Building proficiency in a CRM platform and earning a certification in a relevant vertical such as insurance or technology sales gives candidates a concrete edge when applying without a full account management background.
Where can I find and apply to national account manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to national account manager jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience and target industry, then apply directly to each one through the listing.
