National Account Manager Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a national account manager in Minnesota?
Most national account manager roles in Minnesota require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline, paired with progressive B2B sales experience. Minnesota does not require a state-issued license specifically for this role. Hiring employers in industries such as medical devices and food and beverage typically expect candidates to have moved through inside sales or regional account roles before stepping into a national book of business.
How much do national account managers make in Minnesota?
National account managers in Minnesota earn a median of about $76,750 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,680 for the lowest 10% to over $136,840 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire national account managers in Minnesota?
Companies currently hiring national account managers in Minnesota include Spectrum Brands, olly, and BOELTER, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's deep roots in medical technology, food manufacturing, and financial services mean that many of these employers manage large national client portfolios from their Twin Cities headquarters.
Which Minnesota cities have the most national account manager jobs?
Minneapolis, Minneapolis-Saint Paul, and Bloomington have the most national account manager openings in Minnesota. The Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro drives the majority of postings because it is home to a high concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and regional offices in sectors like healthcare, consumer goods, and technology, while Rochester benefits from the anchor presence of major medical institutions and their supplier networks.
Are there remote national account manager jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and more than most fields, since national account management is fundamentally a relationship and communication role that does not require a fixed on-site presence. About 70% of national account manager openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader flexibility in commercial sales functions. Strategic account planning, forecasting, and client reporting are the tasks most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a national account manager in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales or territory sales representative role at a Minnesota employer, where you build the account management fundamentals employers look for before promoting to national accounts. Large Minnesota-based companies in medical devices, packaged foods, and financial services frequently run structured sales development programs that place early-career candidates on a clear track toward key account responsibility. Earning a Certified Professional Sales Person credential or completing a sales management certificate through a Minnesota state university program can strengthen a candidate's profile considerably.
