Most national sales managers in North Carolina start with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, then build their way up through individual contributor sales roles before stepping into management. North Carolina does not require a state-issued license for general sales management, so advancement typically depends on demonstrating revenue results, team leadership, and industry expertise within sectors like technology, life sciences, or manufacturing that dominate hiring here.
How much do national sales managers make in North Carolina?
National sales managers in North Carolina earn a median of about $150,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,350 for the lowest 10% to over $297,760 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire national sales managers in North Carolina?
Employers hiring national sales managers in North Carolina right now include US Foods, Total Quality Logistics (TQL), and NASCAR, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. North Carolina's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, large technology firms in the Research Triangle, and major financial institutions in Charlotte means the pipeline of national-level sales leadership roles stays consistently active.
Which North Carolina cities have the most national sales manager jobs?
Charlotte, Raleigh, and North Carolina have the most national sales manager openings in North Carolina. Charlotte leads because of its dense concentration of financial services firms, enterprise technology companies, and distribution operations, while Raleigh and Durham benefit from the Research Triangle's life sciences and software sectors, which rely heavily on national sales leadership to manage accounts outside the region.
