Qualifications & Experience
- You bring 5+ years of content marketing experience in B2B SaaS, tech, research, or data-driven companies, with a strong portfolio demonstrating data storytelling and thought leadership content.

Content Marketing Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a content marketing manager in New York?
Content marketing manager is not a licensed profession in New York, so there is no state board or exam required. Most New York employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or journalism combined with hands-on content strategy experience. Building a portfolio of published work, SEO campaigns, or measurable brand programs is the most effective credential in this market. Industry certifications in content marketing or digital analytics strengthen applications at larger New York companies.
How much do content marketing managers make in New York?
Content marketing managers in New York earn a median of about $181,200 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $104,140 for the lowest 10% to over $324,310 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire content marketing managers in New York?
Employers hiring content marketing managers in New York right now include Amazon, Sony Music Entertainment, and Foot Locker, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Which New York cities have the most content marketing manager jobs?
The cities with the most content marketing manager openings in New York are New York, Brooklyn, and New York City. New York City dominates because it is home to major media publishers, advertising agencies, financial services headquarters, and technology firms that rely heavily on content marketing, while positions in other metros tend to be tied to regional corporate offices or university-affiliated organizations.
Are there remote content marketing manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 34% of content marketing manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how naturally this desk-based, digital role translates to distributed work. How can I get hired as a content marketing manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a content coordinator or marketing associate role at a New York media company, agency, or mid-size brand and building measurable results from there. Large New York employers like Condé Nast and major financial institutions run structured marketing rotational programs that accept recent graduates. A strong portfolio of blog posts, social campaigns, or freelance brand work consistently matters more than years of experience, and certifications in SEO or content strategy give early-career candidates a concrete edge.
