- Lead data migration planning — including field mapping, data cleansing, validation checkpoints, and reconciliation between legacy and target systems
- Coordinate across the implementation vendor, internal IT, HR, and Payroll to keep workstreams in sync and accountability clear
- Drive configuration and testing across core modules: payroll, benefits, onboarding, time & attendance, and integrations
- Develop a detailed cutover plan including parallel run strategy, rollback contingency, and go/no-go criteria
- Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers early, then help teams navigate decisions with clarity and urgency
- Lead change management and training efforts so HR teams and employees are ready — not just technically enabled — from day one
- Create communication plans that keep stakeholders informed and engaged at every stage
- Build repeatable project management practices and documentation that outlast the implementation

- Strong data migration experience: mapping, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation between legacy and target systems
- Solid understanding of People Operations programs and the employee lifecycle — payroll, benefits, onboarding, and compliance
- Ability to translate between technical and functional teams — you speak both HR and IT
- Clear, direct communication skills with the ability to escalate risks honestly and keep leadership aligned without surprises
- Experience supporting change management and driving adoption of new systems and processes
- Exposure to compensation, recruiting, or similar People tools is a plus, but not required

Contract Specialist Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a contract specialist job in Dallas?
Focus on the sectors that drive the most contract specialist hiring in Dallas: defense and aerospace firms along the Stemmons Corridor, large hospital systems in the Medical District, and city and county government agencies downtown. Candidates with experience in FAR or government procurement stand out locally. Tailoring your resume to the specific contract types an employer handles, whether commercial, government, or construction, gives you a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire contract specialists in Dallas?
Employers hiring contract specialists in Dallas right now include Tech Holding, RLI Insurance Company, and Baylor Scott & White Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas attracts a wide mix of employer types, from large defense primes and Fortune 500 corporate headquarters to regional hospital networks and municipal agencies, all of which maintain active contracting and procurement teams.
Are there remote contract specialist jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though it depends heavily on the role type. Contract review, drafting, and vendor negotiation are frequently remote-eligible, while roles tied to construction, facilities, or on-site procurement tend to require in-person presence. About 46% of contract specialist openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the highest remote share among corporate legal and procurement roles at large Uptown and Las Colinas employers.
How can I get a contract specialist job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is through procurement coordinator or purchasing assistant roles at the city, county, or Dallas ISD, which regularly hire entry-level candidates and provide structured exposure to public contracting. Large healthcare systems in the Medical District also hire contract analysts with minimal experience if you have a business or legal degree. Earning a Certified Federal Contracts Manager credential or completing paralegal coursework strengthens applications significantly in this market.
Which industries hire the most contract specialists in Dallas?
Most contract specialist openings in Dallas sit in Insurance, Technology & Software, and Artificial Intelligence, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's concentration of defense contractors, sprawling hospital and health system networks, and a large municipal government with active infrastructure and vendor programs means contract specialists here work across a broader range of contract types than in most comparably sized cities.
