Corporate Paralegal Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a corporate paralegal in Texas?
Texas does not require a state-issued license for paralegals, but most corporate employers expect a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or a degree in paralegal studies. Earning voluntary certification through NALA or NFPA signals professional commitment and strengthens your candidacy. Large Texas law firms and in-house legal departments in industries like energy and technology typically prefer candidates who combine formal education with hands-on corporate transactional coursework.
How much do corporate paralegals make in Texas?
Corporate paralegals in Texas earn a median of about $62,310 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $39,190 for the lowest 10% to over $98,440 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire corporate paralegals in Texas?
Employers hiring corporate paralegals in Texas right now include EisnerAmper, Axxess Consult, and McKinley Paper and Packaging Company, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major energy companies, and large regional law firms means corporate paralegal demand remains broad across both in-house legal departments and private practice.
Which Texas cities have the most corporate paralegal jobs?
Dallas and Houston lead Texas for corporate paralegal openings, reflecting where the state's legal and business activity is densest. Houston draws heavily from the energy sector and its large law firm presence, Dallas from financial services and corporate headquarters, and Austin from the expanding technology and venture-backed company base that generates steady transactional legal work.
Are there remote corporate paralegal jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many legal roles. About 29% of corporate paralegal openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves document review, contract drafting, and entity management that translates well to remote settings. Entity governance, due diligence support, and contract administration tend to be the functions most commonly performed off-site.
How can I get hired as a corporate paralegal in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved Texas program, such as those offered at the University of Houston or University of North Texas, combined with internship experience in a corporate or transactional setting. Many large Houston and Dallas law firms and in-house legal teams hire paralegal assistants or legal coordinators as entry-level roles that transition into corporate paralegal positions. Experience as a legal secretary or contracts administrator is a common lateral move that opens the door, and NALA's Certified Paralegal credential gives candidates a measurable edge early in their careers.
Where can I find and apply to corporate paralegal jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to corporate paralegal jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Find the roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to each employer. No account creation is needed to search and review listings.
