Compliance Consultant Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a compliance consultant in Texas?
Most compliance consultants in Texas enter the field with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related discipline, then build credentials through industry certifications. The Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional designation from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics and the Certified Healthcare Compliance credential from the Health Care Compliance Association are widely recognized by Texas employers. Texas has no single state licensing board for compliance consultants, so professional certification paired with sector-specific experience is the practical path.
How much do compliance consultants make in Texas?
Compliance consultants in Texas earn a median of about $75,370 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $45,170 for the lowest 10% to over $126,920 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire compliance consultants in Texas?
Employers hiring compliance consultants in Texas right now include Alvarez & Marsal, Protiviti, and EisnerAmper, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's mix of large financial institutions, energy majors, and regional health systems means demand is consistent across multiple industries rather than concentrated in one sector.
Which Texas cities have the most compliance consultant jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Austin have the most compliance consultant openings in Texas. Houston's dominance reflects its concentration of energy companies, petrochemical firms, and large regional banks that maintain robust in-house compliance teams, while Dallas draws demand from financial services headquarters and major healthcare networks, and Austin's fast-growing tech sector has added a steady stream of regulatory and risk roles.
Are there remote compliance consultant jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. Compliance consulting is largely desk-based and document-driven, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 28% of compliance consultant openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have adopted flexible models for this type of work. Policy review, audit support, and regulatory reporting are the functions most consistently offered on a remote basis.
How can I get hired as a compliance consultant in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a compliance analyst or risk analyst role at a large Texas employer, where structured programs exist for candidates without direct compliance experience. Major Texas health systems such as HCA Houston Healthcare and UT Southwestern hire compliance associates who move in from adjacent roles in healthcare administration, billing, or legal support. Financial institutions in Dallas and Houston regularly bring in early-career candidates with finance or accounting backgrounds into compliance operations teams. Earning the CCEP-I certificate for entry-level professionals gives applicants a recognized credential that signals seriousness to Texas hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to compliance consultant jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to compliance consultant jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Houston, Dallas, Austin, and other markets. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
