INTRODUCTION
A leading Social Housing Provider is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of responsive repairs and maintenance services across a large housing portfolio. Reporting into the Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for operational performance, customer satisfaction, health and safety compliance, budget management and service delivery across a multidisciplinary workforce. This is a key leadership position, with oversight of a team of operatives, supervisors and coordinators, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading and developing a large operational team to deliver responsive repairs, maintenance, adaptations and minor capital works programmes.
- Ensuring the consistent achievement of KPIs, service standards, productivity targets and customer satisfaction measures.
- Managing client and stakeholder relationships, responding to complaints and driving service improvements through resident feedback.
- Taking responsibility for health and safety compliance, including audits, risk assessments, toolbox talks and adherence to statutory regulations.
- Monitoring budgets, controlling costs, managing variations and ensuring value for money across all workstreams.
- Managing subcontractor performance and holding suppliers accountable for delivery, quality, compliance and customer outcomes.
- Supporting service development, continuous improvement initiatives and the identification of new opportunities for business growth.
- Driving a high-performance culture through coaching, performance management, succession planning and staff development.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have significant experience managing repairs and maintenance operations within social housing, local authority or contractor environments, with a proven track record of leading large operational teams in a performance-driven setting. Strong knowledge of compliance, health and safety legislation, contractor management and customer-focused service delivery is essential.
