COO Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a coo job in Atlanta?
The strongest path to a coo role in Atlanta is building deep operational experience in the sectors that dominate local hiring: logistics and supply chain, financial services, healthcare systems, and technology. Candidates who stand out typically bring a record of cross-functional leadership and P&L ownership. Networking through Atlanta's Buckhead business community, Midtown tech scene, and industry associations like the Metro Atlanta Chamber gives a real edge over remote applicants.
Which companies hire coos in Atlanta?
Companies currently hiring coos in Atlanta include Emory Healthcare, The Coca-Cola Company, and BRAVEN, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Atlanta's employer base ranges from Fortune 500 corporations and major health systems to fast-growing logistics startups and private equity-backed mid-market firms.
Are there remote coo jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though coo roles are less remote-friendly than most given the hands-on leadership they require. About 69% of coo openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, mostly at technology companies and professional services firms. The most remote-compatible parts of the role tend to be strategic planning and financial oversight rather than day-to-day operational management.
How can I get a coo job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is moving into operations leadership through a director or VP of operations role at a mid-size Atlanta company, particularly in logistics, healthcare administration, or fintech, where the city has a dense cluster of growing employers. Atlanta-based private equity portfolio companies and startup accelerators like Atlanta Tech Village frequently promote operations directors into executive roles. Demonstrating measurable process improvements and cross-departmental leadership in those stepping-stone positions is what moves candidates forward.
Which industries hire the most coos in Atlanta?
The sectors hiring the most coos in Atlanta are Consulting & Professional Services, Manufacturing, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Atlanta's role as a logistics hub, a major Southeast financial center, and a fast-growing technology corridor makes those industries the primary drivers of executive operations hiring in the city.
