Our 12-week paid internship program offers firsthand experience and meaningful projects that have an impact on our business. Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals receiving mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities that will expose you to various aspects of our industry.

Working alongside our Category Insights team that serves our customers, employees, and partners across North America and Canada. Collaborating with other Gordon Food Service interns and employees in the following areas:
- Communications
- Finance
- Accounting
- Human Resources
- IT
- Marketing & Merchandising
- Supply Chain
- Sales
Build a Career:
In the Category Insights department by:
- Learning internal and syndicated data systems.
- Building excel proficiency.
- Participating in organizational and team dynamics.
- Interacting across categories and functions.
- Pursuing ad hoc project(s) to explore category opportunities.
- Creating data visualization of insights and observations.
- Developing presentation deck(s) to share "the data story".
Build the Future by:
Being an intern at Gordon Food Service, North America's largest family-owned broadline food service distributor and working alongside our department.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Meet the following qualifications to be considered for our 2027 internship program:
- Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Business.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Does a Customer Insights Analyst role qualify for CPT authorization?
It qualifies if your program includes coursework in marketing research, statistics, or data analysis and your DSO determines the role is an integral part of your curriculum. Roles involving survey design, consumer segmentation, or A/B testing map cleanly to those fields. Bring the job description and your course list to your DSO so they can make the determination before you accept the offer.
Can I do remote CPT work as a Customer Insights Analyst?
Yes, remote work is permitted under CPT as long as your DSO authorizes it and the employer's address on your I-20 is accurate. Some DSOs require the employer's physical location to be listed even for fully remote roles. Confirm with your DSO which address to use, since a mismatch between your I-20 and your actual work location can create compliance issues.
How do I find Customer Insights Analyst employers that understand CPT?

What happens to my CPT if my project scope changes after I start?
If your responsibilities shift significantly, such as moving from consumer survey analysis to financial modeling, your DSO may need to review whether the updated role still qualifies under your curriculum. Notify your DSO promptly if the job title, employer, or core duties change, since continuing CPT work under a materially different scope without updated authorization is a status violation.
Does working as a Customer Insights Analyst on CPT affect my STEM OPT eligibility?
CPT itself doesn't affect STEM OPT eligibility, but the type of CPT does. Part-time CPT of any duration leaves your OPT intact. Full-time CPT totaling 12 months or more eliminates OPT entirely, including the STEM extension. If your program is in data science, applied statistics, or a designated STEM field, protecting that 24-month STEM OPT extension is often worth structuring your CPT as part-time.
